Not sure what data you're referring to? You mentioned 50%, but I can't think of any other patches than 11.0.7 that weren't 56 days in TWW so far.

To be fair, we can also say that there have been 0 patches that started a new tier/season that have followed the 8 week formula. Unlike the other poster, however, I lean more on the patch taking longer to release, however, to ensure a patch with more content is in better working order. I'm expecting a Tuesday post-Gamescom release to go off Midnight hype in a similar manner that Guardians of the Dream followed TWW's announcement.

You're either completely disingenuous or have memory of goldfish. We had this discussion already. I used actual data from last 3 years when they introduced this patch system.

You defend completely wacked idea that every single patch + new annoucement will be released on same schedule to the day, then threw away data from Dragonflight for reasons, then ignore that 1 patch in TWW already doesn't follow it. At this point I think you're just trolling this forum.

It's more likely than puting race in the middle of Gamescom for sure. Strongest argument for earlier release is Turbulent Timeways, so far it ended either on patch day (last time in TWW) or first day in season (2 events in DF). Current event starts on patch day and will either last 6 or 7 weeks.

I can recognize that. Here is my thought on that, however. My guess on Timeways event placement right before a patch was to help newer or returning players to level a character they might want to play for the new patch and jump right in. If they were to find another way to get players to level up to jump right into the content, then the purpose of the Timeways event is to be another event they can place anywhere to shore up slow times in the game. So perhaps Blizzard found a different way to give these players a faster way to level to prepare for a new patch, like perhaps another Winds of Mysterious Forture event?

There IS another argument that I've heard from people that goes against a post-Gamescom 10.2 release and I'd like to address that too. There is a theory that whatever happens at the end of TWW will be necessary for a reveal of Midnight in Gamescom. I doubt this will be the case. Even IF part of the same saga, I feel that any prelude to Midnight would happen through the cutscene we'll see at Gamescom or the pre-patch prior to the event. What we'll see at Gamescom won't really spoil what will happen at the raid finale. I see this becoming another Guardians of the Dream releasing the Tuesday after Blizzcon situation.

I agree, the lack of a story bridge is a bit interesting. Others have stated it before, but I think it's one of two things: the patch is a real punch that they're overly excited to deliver upon (and possibly a hefty twist), or it's internally believed to maybe be underwhelming, and their confidence is instead in what follows in Midnight.

I obviously hope it's the first option. We'll see, though.

Oh, I hope they are connected. Kinda tired of new expansion undermining current finale - it happened in DF, in BfA and in.. Legion when they announced BfA before we played Antorus. Kinda funny that last two expansions when we experienced finale before next reveal were Shadowlands and WoD.

Unfortunately it will probably happen again anyway with Midnight->The Last Titan. Blizzcon is September '26, would be strange to not show TLT there.

Just expect some Blizzard games to come to the game pass imo

Somewhat unrelated but what ever happened with the Vareesa NPC thing that was datamined early in TWW.

She still hasn't shown up, right?

Or option three: There is a bridging story quest, it's just encrypted because it explicitly reveals what the next patch is and they didn't want people to know months in advance.

Hmm, are you thinking the hidden Lorewalking quest? I think so too, actually.

Btw, that Arathi questline is encrypted? Maybe 11.2 is something completely different and that questline hint it.

We are talking about prologue quest, so far every X.7 had it.

    Nah, Arathi was entirely playable.

Not necessarily a hidden Lorewalking quest, just something, really.

I guess the Ethereal quest could be a breadcrumb into 11.2, but idk.

Me when a patch lasts the same time it has for the last 15 years:

I think the only encrypted questline that was found was the Magister Umbric & Void Elf Lorewalking quest, which is what I was referring to as maybe being meant for another patch specifically because Blizzard usually at least makes mention of the quests even if they're encrypted. It wouldn't make sense for them to just shadow drop a prologue quest into a patch when there's no notion what the next major content patch could be.

I mean, they've gotten way better at encrypting.

That's why they'll release it after the Patch is announced.

Was there an 11.1.9 by any chance?

If anyone is certain that WoW patch is too underwhelming for main gaming events, well they just showed Guild Wars 2 on Summer Fest xD.

Not even to highlight the latest patch (which, tbf, is probably one of the worst patches in a while), but just the game lol

I feel that these days Blizz would throw out an article stating they'd have something to show at the X-Box presentation. I could be wrong ofc, but I don't see it showing up there. I think Blizz will likely drop the reveal in their own video/stream sometime in the next few weeks.

Within 14 days, you will have the 11.2 reveal. "Deeper, deeper its roots will reach. Welcoming our embrace!"
