Not sure what you even mean here. I am completley fine with a theoretical "rootlands". I just don't think its likely something that was a leveling zone got upturned to be the endzone of the this expansion. If this particular file name was never datamined would we even be having this discussion right now? Unlikely imo. This is nothing more than an MMO-C theory run wild.

They are talking about their home, a separate location which they term "the cradle". I'm not sure what argument you're even trying to make here. There isn't any other way to parse the term in the context of their conversation besides it being the place that they are from. Like at absolute best, where we logically bend over backwards to force the "it must just be a particular object" angle, the only way it makes sense in context is being some sort large structure that, at the very least, the elders of their tribe live in wherever they are from and supposed to stay and still a proper place.

Just because the Draenei on Azuremyst talk about "the ship" (not capitalized) having crashed doesn't make that ship not a proper place.

Blizzard really ought to add multi-classing - being able to swap between multiple classes on a single character. For example, I want my Druid to sometimes be a Hunter. Or my Paladin sometimes be a Priest. I think FFXIV has a system like this, where you can level multiple classes on a single character and swap between them. Hell, they could add it to the store as a character service too.

Even without datamining we'd have Orwenya cinematic and major character energy and unfinished blackbood story and Blizzard saying this expansion was focused underground Azeroth to point us down, plus the repair work on the coreway.

If we go to K'aresh its purely because the saga changed the story and it will still feel narratively wrong to suddenly go to space over a macguffin that isn't in the hands of the current threat anymore.

Why do we care if the heart is off world to a place we don't even know exists?

Or as in AoC. Choose a base class and then a second class, making a different combination each time.

    For example:

    Warrior / Priest = Paladin.
    Druid / hunter = Ranger.
    Mage / DK = Lich.

Mix that with all the weapons available for all classes as in ESO, plus weapon-related skill trees and you've got something cool.

Imagine if I could use a bow as a mage, where my spells would turn my bow into pure magic allowing me to cast my spells.

All this with action-rpg gameplay, it would be divine.

Of course, it's MMOC. If you want common sense, it's not this door.

Yeah, deffo 11.1.5 and 11.1.7 stuff were meant to be 11.0.5 and 11.0.7 respectively and should have come out last year.

I don't think its a problem that they came out now, honestly.

Agreed, but they feel really disjointed with the goblin stuff and the story momentum is a bit lost on them. Would have been great to have Legacy of Arathor back in December when the novella came out in November.

If they were to find another way to get players to level up to jump right into the content, then the purpose of the Timeways event is to be another event they can place anywhere to shore up slow times in the game. So perhaps Blizzard found a different way to give these players a faster way to level to prepare for a new patch, like perhaps another Winds of Mysterious Forture event?

There IS another argument that I've heard from people that goes against a post-Gamescom 10.2 release and I'd like to address that too. There is a theory that whatever happens at the end of TWW will be necessary for a reveal of Midnight in Gamescom. I doubt this will be the case. Even IF part of the same saga, I feel that any prelude to Midnight would happen through the cutscene we'll see at Gamescom or the pre-patch prior to the event. What we'll see at Gamescom won't really spoil what will happen at the raid finale. I see this becoming another Guardians of the Dream releasing the Tuesday after Blizzcon situation.
Yeah, the Midnight preview has NOTHING to do with the final raid tier because it never had in the past - they revealed MOP before we knew how we kill Deathwing, etc. Since the final patch will be revealed before that all they have to say "and while we fight against Xal and the Ethereals on a two front war to save the Worldcore, the Void prepares for their big scale invasion yada yada". It's not different to BFA and "yada yada something happens in Undercity and Teldrassil but we dont know who started it yada yada".

Honestly, the only way skipping Rootlands after the buildup would be if they moved it back to TLT and say there are multiple entryways to it - one from Khaz Algar, one from Northrend and one from Unguro or something idk.

Yes I also hate this about Marvel comics. Our planet being the center of the universe means everything fun is happening here, so there is no point to go out and explore elsewhere

For that matter, our characters have no idea where it is, only that the Ethereals took it.

I would love it if just for one season we work with Xal to get the Heart away from Dimensius. Clearly, Xal having it is marginally better than any other void creature.

Happy Sunday!! Let’s have some fun.

What is your “perfect scenario” for how we transition from The War Within to Midnight?

Ya know that Void portal at Aberrus which was conveniently never shown to close after our fight with Sarkareth?

Now, I'm hoping it did close in the lore, otherwise...

Did Sarkareth open it? Otherwise it would have been there all the way since Deathwings initial corruption.

'A World Engulfed in Darkness' - every area in Azeroth will have voidy skybox ala Beledar's Shadow.

I must admit, contrast between "omg whole world is screwed" and "let's build cosy home!" will be hilarious. Thematically housing always fit better for revamp expansion.

Yes, but most likely only above Silvermoon region.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

Fairly difficult to know until we get a look of 11.2.

It would be boring if they copy Legion. Say that Xal'athat or other character goes to the Sunwell with the Dark Heart to open a portal and thousands of Void beings start invading Azeroth. I just don't see that happening.

The book that is coming before Midnight doesn't seem to give any relevant clues, except that the Legion might be more relevant than expected in this saga, but I believe that it would be more heavily featured in TLT, not in Midnight.
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.

One of the reasons I want K'aresh in 11.2 vs Midnight is two-pronged:

    A) Midnight has a better chance to not be a brick-by-brick Purple Legion where we solve everyone's regional problems, fight in an elf kingdom, fight on a sacred elf island, and then go into a portal to beat the Fel/Void.

    B) If it HAS to be Purple Legion, then the Void World can be something different than K'aresh that has weird void shit we haven't seen before.

I would prefer a K'aresh patch separate to the Void Argus so both themes can be explored and they don't have to cannibalize each other.
