The only thing I'm sure of is the ethereal raid, whatever else happens is a mystery that I'm not willing to bet on.

I am conflicted about Rootlands given I'm the one that spoiled that being one of the major zones at one point. I kinda want it to not happen at all so I didn't spoil a story beat, but on the other hand I also don't want it to be yet another scrapped zone that was found through datamining alone.

People are antsy, and the next patch is out next week so people are looking ahead.

As for Midnight, Gamescom is a pretty safe bet. It is in late Summer on the roadmap and Gamescom is August.

I think for my last bet I'm thinking of rootlands/worldcore for 11.2.

Rather than the emerald dream 2.0 people are expecting, I see it more akin to gorgrond.

A giant titan zone deep underground, beset by the roots of the world tree Elun'ahir, grown around and intertwined with it, reaching towards the worldcore itself. The worldcore as the raid. This way we can get a taste of why Amanthul was so angry about the tree, but also have more of the overgrowth = bad that we got a taste of in WoD.

Here we can have the cradle as the home city of the patch and finish of the Harrownir storyline.

I fully expect the roots to have breached the worldcore in some way, allowing Xal'atah entrance to the world soul itself. I expect the visuals of the zone to be a mixture of Ulduar style titan facility, mixed with the cradle as a sort of peaceful city zone, for the roots to become almost more aggressive and invasive the closer they get to the worldcore, and at points, black blood dripping along and down from the roots at certain points of the zone.

Story wise, the zone will have us work with the Harrownir and learn their purpose. I can imagine them as being sort of peaceful tenders to the zone. Although their fascination with not getting involved has led to roots to begin to interfere with the worldcores integrity. Maybe they worship E'lune or the world tree itself and refuse to damage it or get in its way. Therefore I can see us working with Orweyna to help convince the others that they need to get back involved to help stop the work soul from being open to corruption, albeit too little too late, when roots breach the worldcore allowing Xal's entry.

The raid would be a push through the Titan failsafes of the worldcore. For bosses mixture of titanforged machines and keepers, life aligned creatures (possibly botani) wanting to spread and grow (possibly towards the world soul or just in general) and void allinged faceless ones, cultists and inevitably Xal'atah herself as the end boss.

The final boss room a giant open chamber Ala the eternal Palace, which has a massive sky box with the worldsoul as the backdrop. Right before the last boss, the bad Ethereals turn up with the dark heart and remove the radiant song from the worldsoul, and leave to give it to K'aresh. Leaving the worldsoul fully free for Xal to corrupt and turn to void.

Although we defeat her in elf form, she lols and leaves in the final cinematic (in some weird way to leave her fate ambiguous, possibly dying and leaving her eleven form behind) the final cinematic can then show the worldsoul turning to purple fully. The aftermath can be the different heroes noting how the radiant song has fallen silent/gone and they are unsure what awaits them.

Still entirely expecting a curveball with the reveal though, and K'aresh is also possible. This is just how I'd do it of the top of my head with a crying infant in my arms. Fatherhood is bizzare.

-Dalaran ruins appear as the dungeon, part of the void zone, or a delve. This ties into Atiesh legendary or Atiesh recrafted into something
-Raid is Ethereal themed but Elf Xal is the final boss
-Ending: Dark Heart and/or Xal's body is destroyed but Alleria is possessed by Xal and somehow that leads to Midnight (Xal infiltrates QT/Quel'danas)
-Playable Ethereals unlocked either with Midnight preorder or after 11.2 campaign ala Earthen

Alleria corruption absolutely has to happen. She's our only direct link to Silvermoon as it stands. I also never considered broker boats, I liked those.

I think part of the reason is she will likely be possessed is how they are handling Vereesa.

If Alleria becomes an "enemy" for a short period of time, we can fully focus on Vereesa as an MC, something she needs to really bolster her character as the weakest and least popular of the three Windrunners. Also, the way they outright refuse to use her in TWW makes me think we are going to get a lot of her in Midnight.

If High Elves are a big part of Midnight then this would also line up as she is their Silver Covenant poster child, more or less.

I mean, level designed spoiled that story beat. If they did not want people to expect a visit to the Harronir home, they shouldn't have multiple troll elves tell us about how they were returning home, featuring those roots in two zones and having locations when you should be able to move forward and was just ported back.

Nah, not happening this week. At best we'll get an announcment for the announcment ("tune in for Warcraft Direct at this time!") I'm hoping we get it on the 18th, but a bunch of people here are convinced it's the 25th for 11.2.

Midnight probably Gamescom in August.

Yeah, I wonder if they are going to have her go full Alliance/High Elf Blue and Gold to distinguish her, or they are waiting for Alleria to turn purple so she can come back silvery.

The Golden novel kind of rules out a direct possesion by Xal between TWW and Midnight

Unless the book has a slight horror angle to it and its actually Xal'atath traveling and talking with Arator and he slowly notices something is off about Alleria. Which would actually be pretty cool.

I think that the book is going to end up being between 11.1 and 11.2, especially if 11.2 isn't Khaz Algar, as the timeline is just labeled "after the events of Khaz Algar".
