    K'aresh bois!
Sometimes it just is what it is. This way obvious from the moment they uploaded the undermine ending cinematic.

they said multiple times that with a trilogy they can start plot points they can finish later. the rootlands and the worldcore are something we'll likely explore late midnight or in the last titan

    Eyyyy, poggies!

Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

It really wasn't. Especially when right after we talk to Orweyna and talk to jer about how she will continue searching for the source of the Black Blood.

The only reason it was "obvious" was because we knew S3 would have an Ethereal themed raid. And even that could have been something besides K'aresh.

Still, Karesh is hype in its own way, the new content looks fairly meaty, reusing Tazavesh like that is good, and Dimensius is enough of a nobody throwaway villain that you can sacrifice him as the setup for Midnight. Might also be the justification for playable Ethereals, of course.

I wouldn't be surprised if this patch is the point of divergence where the team decided to integrate TWW into the world soul saga. Originally we were probably going to the Rootlands, but that area and the whole core of Azeroth will probably be repurposed for TLT.
It could be that TLT is meant to have underground areas too and they just didn't want to go all-in on the theme in TWW for people just to be tired of it come our return to Northrend. At least that's my guess for the departure.

It was obvious because the cliffhanger for the next patch literally showed us Karesh.

    It's as simple as that.

Probably, but that's exactly why they should reuse those assets. It's a perfectly fitting area, it looks nice, and probably didn't take much effort to repurpose into a hub. I think that, rather than making all-new assets all the time, Blizzard should reuse assets more, so long as the reuse makes sense obviously.

I'm a bit bummed the raid is only 8 bosses tho. That makes TWW the expansion with the fewest raid bosses of them all, I believe. Final raids should be a good, meaty 10 bosses at least IMO. I get that raids don't get as much focus as yesteryear because they're no longer the only endgame in town, but still.

I think the most obvious thing Locus Walker getting a short story over her.

Maybe they come with us when we port Tazavesh out of the Shadowlands. Basically like a virus.

But that's what they did. Patch zones are Patch zones. How is some sort of rootlands lore different than designing an entire culture for "K'aresh but outlargus?" If anything TLT is going to be as much disjointed as this expansion is, if not more.

"Gee, Shadow Priest, why does Blizzard let you have two reworks in one expansion?" Incompetence, mostly. But that's nothing new.

Yoon said: "I think the really cool thing about Eco-Dome Al'dani is that the canonical route that the storyline takes place is the campaign, the raid, and then Eco-Dome Al'dani. That is not a thing we do often so I'm really looking forward to seeing how people react to this cadence."
Surely Blizzard realises what an idiotic thing that is when the raid doesnt even open until the following week.

They could also just not have had underground zones in TLT.
Harrowsdeep did need to be somewhere in Northrend. But it could easily just be an instance. It doesn't need to be a full zone.
Northrend is large enough anyways that they will probably struggle to use all of it anyways.

Players are able to gather a lot of hints and clues about where we're headed to next in Midnight with the story in this patch.

Uh.... Quel'thalas? What did they mean by that?

Could also just have been buildup to Midnight, as has been mentioned many times before.

Wouldn't be the first time they consume non-anima stuff, they were eating up stuff from Zereth Mortis (which didn't agree with them, making them swiss cheese).

guys the patch looks amazing! but you delve into azeroth pursuing xal atath...two patch later here we go k'aresh and xalatath is missing XD is funny

It was A cliffhanger. Not THE cliffhanger. We have had lots of cliffhangers that don't lead to something immediately before. The one from the megadungeon in DF as an obvious example. It was heavy foreshadowing for Xal'atath, and then the next patch does nothing with it.
