The Shadowguard is using the Dark Heart to power him up though.
It's literally stuck to his chest:

Well, Sargeras was trapped on Seat of the Pantheon, a ship smaller than him.

And if we beat him inside the Dark Heart, why does his animation showcase him being sucked in and whatnot? It's not like he's getting kicked out of the Dark Heart or anything

What animation? Dimensius doesn't have a death animation.

He gets sucked into the Dark Heart, along side us, during P2. The rest of the fight takes place in the Heart.

I wonder if there would be a possibility that we don't get Ethereals as a playable race, but K'areshi. Energy bound refuges that come to make a home on Azeroth while aiding our fight against the Void. Cosmetic options include wrappings as Ethereals and faceplates as Brokers, with some mechagnome esque parts for the legs like Brokers. Maybe two body options being fully wrapped or partially contained like Brokers.

Well tbh, it all seems to lead to the most used story beat we know.

*Xal tricks us in. We need combined forces to defeat the big bad (dimensius)
*she betrays us, absorb him into the dark heart (plan all along)
* we are the distraction( making us look stupid believing her)
*she runs off, off to midnight.

Eh, I just don't see Brokers really happening. Too much geometry that wouldn't really work with armor, and I feel like after Dracthyr Blizzard is hesitant to add races you can't mog.

Doesn't matter at end of the day which animation means what, both work as the same, he is being sucked in the Dark Heart in both.
