Midnight 12.X Patches & World Soul Saga Speculation Thread

I'm counting more on Midnight because it's about Void invading Quel'thalas and the reunification of the elven races. It would be a selling point.

A new spec for DHs, I can see that. Void elves being able to be DHs, meh
I would say that doing something more crazy like Undead druids with unique, plagued or rotten forms would be more hype
They did augmentation in a small patch, so it's really not outside the realm of posibilities that it may come wiith 11.2.5 or .7

If there is a new spec coming, it will come in 11.2.5, and it would make sense to introduce new races with it.

Well...come to think of it. That actually could make a lot of sense. I could see it coinciding with Legion Remix. If potentially they wanted to give it an artifact of its own

DH's for all (the Illidari recruiting from other races in order to defend QT) +3rd spec, Palas for all aswell as Druids for all (having the Night Elves teach others in order to restore the Ghostlands) would be huge but I think they will prolly use the later two for patch "content".

Nice thinking but no way that's happening. They couldn't even be bothered to add DK skin tones to the ARs in Shadowlands. Just making the pally mounts is a big ask. Druid and DH forms aren't happening unless its just a new generic form everyone shares.

Void Elf DH is teased and makes sense as they share animations with Belf, who can be DH. Nightborne DH would make sense as well because of Nelf animations.

I know, but there's still 2 patches to go before Midnight, so all I'm saying is that those could be in one of these 2 patches. Augmentation was added in 10.1.5 for example

That was middle DF, which made sense timing wise.

But when we are less than one month of Midnight announcement? I'm betting all on a Midnight selling gimmick.

Might be a controversial take but...I LOVED the Bastion Afterlives short at face value at least on the Uther/Arthas end.

The idea that Uther briefly fell to the same vengeance that he criticized Arthas with under an extreme circumstance and that Arthas was completely shafted from having a chance (Domination technicality aside, because that's not the character point)? Chef kiss drama.

And then they completely failed on every single conceivable level to have a satisfying payoff with it.

Same with poor Ursoc. The whole idea of him being eternally removed to save a bigger purpose has emotional weight...and then he died for fucking nothing, because the tending character responsible gets corrupted and dies.

Man, I'm pissed all over again.

Edit to add regarding the DH 3rd spec - it's an inevitability actually, because they're going to add more hero specs, and the two to a spec setup is impossible to distribute without a third base spec.

Arthas ain't coming back.

Nobody said Arthas is coming back. My point is the damage minimization.

It's the poor representation and writing around it. Nobody cares about the specifics of being alive because most people don't judge stories around tired shonen tropes unless they're explicitly meant to be that genre.

I really hate the fact that there's so much Shadowlands stuff in this patch. Like why? Didn't they get the message? Venthyr? Why? Why are there more brokers than ethereals?
Truly baffling. I am starting to believe more and more that Metzen isn't doing anything, and the new writers still have free reign to do whatever they want
It's disappointing. People want to forget Shadowlands
See what I mean? It's this arrogance from that team that I will never understand. This was the perfect patch to dive deep into ethereal lore, with the Consortium and other factions, ethereal ruins. Instead we get more brokers and.. venthyr

Shadowlands are now a part of WoW universe. They won't be suddenly forgotten and abandoned, regardless of player reception.

They're probably there as a subtle reminder that Denathrius and the Dreadlords still exist and may come into play in the future, especially considering the anima-siphoning capabilities of Venthyr "tech" and Xal'atath's apparent desire to collect everything that's great at consuming every type of energy for the Dark Heart and/or herself. It wouldn't be a huge stretch to assume the two might form an alliance like Iridikron did.

Meta wise it's to save money because the artists didn't have time to do a full ethereal patch.

But I also think people don't dislike the SL covenants besides maybe the Kyrians. It was mostly the plot and Maw related characters that drove people crazy.

The Shadowlands is part of the cosmology. It's best for said universe to double down on something it establishes.

It is really surprising how there was no Seat. If you asked me about a dungeon for a Karesh patch, I would have placed all my money on Seat.

I guess it's better though because it is kind of a shit dungeon.

I hate Shadowlands for its systems and part of its lore, but I'm a true believer it's better to continue to use any lore and redeem it then simply ignore it.

Ethereals and Brokers answer to one of the fan theories that were around for quite sometime and it fits perfectly. And no, it's not just "Broker" stuff, besides Tazavesh, 4/5 is purely old school Ethereal.

I don't like how the eco-domes are Broker themed. Unsure why they did that.
