Anyone else still think we might see a secret legendary in 11.2? They didn't announce one, but Nasz'uro was never officially revealed as far as I can remember- before it dropped from the first Mythic clear, all we had were bits of datamined quests hinting at it (that were found over a month after PTR started, from the articles I can find- and I wouldn't be surprised if the devs work on improving encryption to avoid another leak if they do another surprise like that).

There's been plenty of speculation about a new version of Atiesh before the patch reveal, and given how it ends (
us fighting in the Dark Heart, which absorbed the broken Atiesh
), I could still see it happening. But if a new Demon Hunter spec is really coming in the following minor patch... I also wouldn't be too surprised if they give us a legendary that they can use, whether it's Warglaives, more general 1h weapons that other Agi classes can share, or a scythe (polearm) if the new spec ends up using that. Evokers did get their own legendary when they were the big new thing too, after all- right before Aug was added.

i think the dh weapon we might get is gonna be a 2h glaive (night warrior style) / twin scythe and its gonna be an artifact in legion remix with a full set of alternate skins as it'll be the only 2h weapon they use/ the only one that gets the fancy new DH animations

i could 100% see a legendary poping up tho a new ateish would make sense or something DH related could happen I simply think that the illdiari/demon hunters in general will play a larger than expected role in midnight and TLT

Tho im all in on Illidan turning against the illidari for embracing void users and having the illidari turn on illidan for his general assholery/ abandoning them

A new Atiesh that can be earned in the modern game feels fitting given where the last raid boss takes place.

  4. #91964
Yeah theory about Atiesh were speculated as soon as the Dalaran destruction cinematic dropped.

Last time players got Atiesh was after Dalaran was destroyed by Archimonde (it was stored there). Seing how the dark heart works and where we end up fighting Dimensius in P3, it make sense to drop like the staff head to kick start the quest.

Then grind the splinters by killing bosses in raid to craft the frame by a scribe etc etc

I think Atiesh would've been datamined by now.

Nah, I think they're very much capable of hiding it longer than this if they want to.

After digging a bit deeper, the earliest stuff I can find about Nasz'uro stuff getting datamined wasn't posted until the day 10.1 hit live servers. We're still way before that point. Plus the devs have only gotten better at hiding stuff from datamining over the years, and I wouldn't be surprised if they actively try to avoid this kind of leak if they do another surprise like Nasz'uro.

Anyway, Atiesh is definitely the obvious choice, story-wise... but I wouldn't consider it the only possible legendary, because this is one area where Blizzard has actively avoided obvious candidates before. Take the last one we got- for a 2H weapon in an Emerald Dream patch, the Axe of Cenarius would have been an incredibly obvious choice, but instead they created an entirely new axe. Or stuff like Shadowmourne (and later Blades of the Fallen Prince), when they remade iconic weapons into something entirely different.

Keyword "posted", dataminers knew well ahead of time but most of the time we just don't want to spoil encrypted stuff. That said, I haven't looked into any encrypted stuff in 11.2 yet outside of what I ran into while naming files, so no clue about a secret leggo in 11.2.

It might be using Atiesh for a new weapon, but I feel like they've added too much Medivh armor stuff to not let us earn a modern one, and in a "passing of the torch" away from Khadgar and Dalaran.

Maybe we'll get a legendary everyone can use built from the ateish fragments that is in the .5 patch like the delve belt or the siren isle ring

I kind of agree with Teriz, if TLT has a big Ulduar and Titan focus, it's actually better than Mechagon or Undermine to introduce tinkers!

For me the best opportunity was BfA. BfA's introduction was all about new weapons of war utilizing Azerite, the first world boss was a siege engine and both Gelbin and Gallywix were front and center.

I remember doing island expeditions with the Gnome tinker trio enemies and it felt so certain tinkers were next. Then Shadowlands was announced, and part of me always wondered why they didn't utilise them then as machines have no souls and all that.

Elune has some very obvious voidy influence considering the whole night warrior (maybe this will be our new dh hero talents lol) thing never mind that life and void have pretty big thematic and historical links (like how the voidy old gods turned the titan forged into living beings for example)
she talked crap to elune in legion

Xal seems to be a fallen being that turned to the void current speculation is either a void god naaru or an ethereal
her power is above the old gods as it took all of them to seal her and she talked trash to them

elune is a titan like being if we consider her being the winter queen's sister and the fact the winter queen is the death equivalent of a titan

Xal is probably a keeper level threat currently where before imprisonment was probably a bit above galakrond

    Key word being "currently"...

    I said nothing *disappears*

Weird how Xal called Elune an upstart goddess when she's looking more like that every patch. She's not an Old God, she's not K'aresh..

I know a lot of people want Azshara to return as some sort of Void Empress. I personally hope that's not the case, I see her comments on the true throne of power being something Independant and probably Azeroth itself.

But if Azshara does return as void aligned she's going to feel quite similar to Xal, I think that would be a mistake.

It's definitely not just you, But personally I want the opposite. Not every villain has to be explained. The Old Gods were unknowable Lovecraftian monsters, and then they got an origin and an objective, which totally killed them as villains. Let Knaifu stay as a shady Onlyfans model with obscure goals and identity.

Maybe she is jealous Elune managed to do what she wanted.

I don't think Azshara is gonna be Void Empress. Considering the spoilers...the other one is more likely to be that

Actually, it makes a lot of sense that Xal and Elune are similar- both could have started as mortals that achieved godhood through unusual methods.

Elune's method is a mystery, but probably tied to the Naaru somehow. For Xal, it would be mortal, void-enhanced herald, then godhood if she is able to absorb dimensius's remains inside the dark heart

The Sunwell could be a part of her plan, or it's truly just Azshara, but I think Xal makes more sense though it would make the player look like an idiot.
