HnROOTner.

i dont get 1 thing
theres a 5th old god
thats the black blood
theory: xal was working with the 5th old god then the 5th fell and xal decided to turn traitor and got sealed
xal also talked about how she was torn apart by her bethren so is it possible her origins are on the void planet we saw in star auger?
her shit talking about elune could also be because she was the void minion the night warrior injured

specific
honestly, i think midnight is the perfect time to introduce some type of neutral option for players. The elven reunification plot could be that. Night Elves and Blood Elves got shafted by the faction war at some point. So i see a neutral Silvermoon, and the option for players to also become neutral. I could see a bunch of races immediately follow into neutrality after the elves. Dracthyr, Earthen, Pandaren, Goblins, Gnomes, Mechagnomes, Dark Iron, Vulpera, Tauren, High Mountain, Void Elves, Nightborne, Draenei, Lightforged, Forsaken.
While some core races of the factions might not be into it. Humans, Kul Tirans, Dwarves, Worgen could be core alliance races, and Orc, Mag'har, Troll, Zandalari are core Horde. (but players of these races could still be neutral).
This would shake up the world, and allow for smaller scale conflicts, and not always to get to a all out war between horde and alliance.

Idk icons might actually be the hardest part, there are a ton of animations and spell effects visuals that aren't used any more or were never used by players in the first place that you could throw together to create very interesting class skins, which you can even do right now by using things like imorph (I'm still not sure if we're allowed to mention stuff like that on this here) never mind actually being able to make slight changes or recolorations

Why would you do that though? Every future content update will be neutral anyways, and having old stuff open up for both faction seems to be a coding nightmare especially for the spaghetti code that's WoW. I could see them opening up cities for non-warmode, sure, but everything else just isn't worth it, especially as they want you to play more than one character anyways.

Would still be too far away from QT. Because you know, it's still the QT expansion, not Lordaeron.
I *could* accept the "it broke away during the Cataclysm" excuse but than it would still be super small, good for the "0.7 patch island", but not big enough for one of the four zones imo. And making it part of the Maisara Hills zone (the closest to the Twilight Highlands) would also be weird imo as the Amani are rich enough for their own zone, and I'm not sure we need a b plot with wildhammer dwarfes in there tbh. Again, as a breather mini patch with catch up gear - sure, go for it.

Also, an ice zone before Northrend would be redundant imo. Kind of like Rootlands after the Dream but in reverse.
Definitely want to see the Wildhammer due to their proximity, and they are cool, but not a zone about them.
Did you forget that in Chronicles the elves had to cross a deadly frozen zone before settling north of EK? At first I thought it might be an entirely new zone, but this leak made me re-read the description of Northeron:
It's a perfect match. It's too good to be just a coincidence. And remember, Northeron was originally located in Quel'thalas before being retconed to an insignificant corner in the Twilight Highlands.« It was known for its mysterious ironwood tree forests, the torrential storms from its frozen mountains, ominous and foreboding peaks, and jagged ice cliffs»
I mean, it's the roots of a World Tree, planted by Eonar herself, that have had time to grow for at least over 20k years.
And if we go by the assumption that the roots reached and surround the World Core, they could grow in really any direction and therefore end up anywhere.
And who knows how powerful they are that close to the World Soul.
Not so much. We have forests at every extension, do people complain about seeing trees? A completely or partially frozen zone would be cool to contrast thematically with the other Quel'thalas zones. Besides, if it's a Wildhammer and ice troll zone, I think it would be quite different from what we might see in TLT. It all depends on the art team, I find for example that the Azur Span ice zones stand out well. You can feel the magic.

Now tbf here, we are getting a Void zone before the Void invasion expac lol.
An ice-based zone with a crystal castle or summ would be kinda nice ngl. Heck, maybe the final patch of Midnight could take place on one of Azeroth's Moons (if not the first patch?). That wouldn't be icy, but it would still be cool.

I will just let out a resounding sigh if they don't touch the plaguelands and instead introduce another Khaz Algar off the coast of the Hinterlands. I would even rather a naga zone than that.
Now, sunken Northeron turned into a naga base, we could cook with that.
I'm just sure right now that they're going to make a frozen zone, if they haven't totally forgotten Chronicles. Maybe it's actually Northeron, or whatever you call it. That's my ultimate bingo.
I personally think it's easier to rename a small forgotten ruined corner than an entire potential area. But we'll see.
