I doubt Eversong/Silvermoon are fully lost. I expect we have to defend it, though. Especially Quel'danas.
The phasing part tested with Beledar's phases does indeed come to mind. With occasional invasions/changes to the environment happening.

Silvermoon is going to be a zone at launch a la Suramar, and turn into an actual city in 12.1 is my guess
that would mean the gameplay is removed from silvermoon. I don't think blizzard would do that. They didn't do that for Suramar or for Ahz'kahet. It is more likely that Silvermoon is the 12.0 hub, with a dangerous district (think Boralus/Zuldazar) that has some void world quests now and then.

btw, that they clearly show blood elf structures for that teaser image is just one more nail that it is just QT, and not a EK revamp.

So how will this actually work tho? At the start of expansion horde suddenly lost silvermoon?
At this point, but its because of what people are saying here, it also could be that the updated Silvermoon will be available to both h and a from the very start. Just like that.
Seems easier to explain.
It just remains to be seen how the alliance enters the expansion. Do they get their own hub or are they just freely able to walk/do in Silvermoon much like dalaran?
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.
Undercity/Teldrassil are from Cata, and got 4 expansions before they got removed. Meanwhile we have Cities like Suramar, Ahz'kahet, Boralus und Zuldazar, Undermine that didn't phased to be completely different. So, i don't see any indication that they would do that now. It is unlikely.

I get what you are saying, but how exactly is what I wonder. Will it be just available from the start aka neutral or seperate hub within or outside. We dont know that exactly.

I dont see that exact scenario happening with Silvermoon tho.

i image a similar intro scenario we had for Dornagal/Oribos/Zuldrak/Boralus. Start quests, get there, visit the important locations (inn, bank, auction house).

right, the new thing in 11.2, the phasediving... okay, that could actually open up the whole map to be double dips. Voiddiving?

I just think having Silvermoon somehow be unscathed is... weird. And Suramar was incredibly well-received, to the point where they can kind of ape off the complete storyline and zone progression to the point where it will be completely reclaimed in 12.1 and be a neutral hub. You can even add tiny bits of progression in the reclamation in 12.0.5 and 12.0.7.
Have the staging grounds be Gilneas and Undercity at the start.

Would be weird for them to remake Silvermoon just to destroy it ngl...
I just hope the Blood Elves aren't the next Elven race to be 'genocided' for the plot, and that Silvermoon isn't going the Dalaran route.
@Makorus The Void consumes, though. Nothing would be left of Silvermoon if they invaded all of it.
Oh for fucks sake.
Poor misunderstood baby just wanted to kill all the Dragonflights and we didn't let him. How terribly evil of us.
Sure he was never against the players specifically because we barely count as characters. Besides, he never gave the impression of seeing people as people. Those inhabiting Azeroth are just set pieces, tools for him to use in his single minded vendetta against the Titans.
