2 500 000 seconds left to go until the Midnight reveal, but who's counting...
(4 weeks sounds a little better.)
This is obtuse and deliberately missing the point and you know it
How many earthen do you see running around? I think I've seen less than 5 since the expansion came out
There's already more than enough races

The character creation screen is so messy, at this point they should bake all allied races into their principal race
There's zero reason mag'har orcs and regular orcs shouldn't just be the same race with loads of customisation, as with kultirans and humans, dark iron dwarves and regular, mechagnome with regular gnomes etc etc

I'm going to need them to keep adding races until I can be an elf with bunny ears, hopefully associated with a rabbit wild God inspired by El-ahrairah from water ship down
Agreed, it's a hot mess and they need to fix it and make it into a proper sub-race/background options/racial talent options kind of thing, as suggested several times by other people in this thread. This would also open a window of opportunities to add more customisations without having to go with yet another uninspired AR.

How much effort do you think went into making Earthen? Because let me tell you, it wasn't a lot. The reason they were made a race is because they already had all the assets.
It's not "Earthen or something else", it's "Earthen or nothing". They didn't come up with the "Earthen as a race!" idea first and then made an expansion around it.
you mean dracthyr?! lmfao.
but i can really see they adding another elf sub race just to try and steal some final fantasy players.
it would be really sad, but i could see it happens, not just for the ff players but this kind of race is really popular among chinese players.

What do you mean "steal some Final Fantasy players"?
Blood Elves and human have been the most played races since... ever? It's not "Final Fantasy" players or "chinese players" that play those races, it's WoW players.
Blood Elf/Human/Night Elf alone make up 40% of all characters.
People really underestimate what players actually like lmao.

yeah, BELFS are the majority but they still dont look like cute half animal people, they are just elfs.
the other person said how it wanted bunny girls, i'm not juding LMFAO. but there is no race that looks like this in warcraft:
the closer one, is dracthyr visage form.
it is really obvious how this particular race was done to attract some final fantasy players. i'm not saying its wrong, but thats what they did.
and yeah, i can see they doing a cute animal-elf people to attract more players that like this stuff.

I think the overlap between people who started playing WoW because of Dracthyr and were Final Fantasy players has to be close enough to zero.
Like, Dracthyr Visage are literally just female humans with horns. By that logic, any female character is baiting FF players.
On the subject of elf popularity, I find it very unlikely that someone out there is holding off of playing WoW because some ultra specific type of elf isn't playable at the moment. Chances are if some new elf race is appealing to you then you are already playing one of the existing elf races.
On one hand I would love if they updated their model and took inspiration from Zul'jin's HOTS model
On the other hand, poor vanilla trolls would become like the least played race if they do that.

i agree that is must be close to zero, but i still think that this is a big part of the reason why this race exists. bc of this kind of players. if we look at how character design started to change in league of legends for exemple after tencent baught it and other popular chinese games, it shows how this kind of race is kinda really popular.
but look, since pandaria i wanted to play as hozen, so... who am i to judge lol

Ehhh, Zandalari didn't really dent normal Troll numbers that much.

if dracthyr was made to attract final fantasy players evoker wouldnt force you into scalie form and youd be able to turn off the face scales
and moon elves with rabbit characteristics makes 100% sense in the setting of wow, considering the real world moon rabbit mythos, the connection between elune and the moon and elune and the elves, the potential for a rabbit wild god that can help explore the connection between life and elune while paralleling these elves with the highmountian tauren
but yeah I want bunny elves because I miss my viera from playing ff14, very interesting you link them in their starter armor (which is based off Fran from ff12 btw) instead of one of the viera in a job artifact set like this

not to mention bunny elves would be an ideal "double jump" racial race which would be awesome

What WoW fans like doesn't always match up with what the average consumer likes.
The fact remains, though, that if you grew up on the RTS games or even other fantasy like LotR, there is no way for you to realise the traditional elven ranger archetype in WoW at the present.
Yes, current options share 90% of what makes WC2 Alleria, WC3 Sylvanas (pre-banshee), and Legolas so iconic. But there are pretty key differences that some just can't seem to swallow. For example all the red and violet colour palettes of Void/Blood Elves, Blood Elves being members of the Horde, and the generally vengeful and gloomy attitude within both races. Not to mention Night Elves are quite different both aesthetically and thematically from "generic" elves.
The same could be said for several missing archetypes, by the way. Night Elf Wardens and Ogre Magi to name a couple.
People literally just want to live out those fantasies they grew up with. That's my belief, anyhow. Blizzard should let them.
Just add innocent little daytime-loving, forest green, sexy elves without any drawbacks or asterisks and sub numbers will explode.

I'm still kinda surprised draenei aren't as high as I expected them to be. Below dwarves, even.
Maybe unpopular opinion but i would really liked If WoW come to console ( Xbox ) in Midnight.
With addition of one button base addon shouldnt be problem for majority players. Also idk why but so many people thinks that with controller you wont have enought space for spells. Reality is you can have almost 40 on gamepad ( pedals changing). And second argument how would they heal in raids - Its not that complicated (https://youtu.be/4XxkUFmuu30?si=wR7Yd31pXtE6eV9r)
In the race debate : Can reunite all elven tribes mean also Naga ? All elven races/subraces have same ancestors. Maybe thats the reason for so many watery sounds in PTR - possible naga Dungeon or Alliance with coast Rebels against Azshara/Xal combo.

While WoW can be put on consoles, I genuinely don't see the point. The amount of extra polish required and game design changes for a limited pay-off because realistically, how many players are they going to get is just not worth it.
It's the same thing with putting it on Gamepass or going F2P. Yeah, they can definitely do that, but how exactly would they benfit from that?
