Generic broker models and one of the Ethereal boss models did get new footstep sounds for various terrain surface types in 11.2. Can't say I've looked how common that amount of footstep sounds are, but it is notable. Still not entirely onboard with the whole playable race thing, though.

i think ethereals are going to be playable, but they are playing really save with disguising the usual clues. But, there are clues that are just odd, unless they are meant to be playable:

1. the gleeful glamour that is only used for player races
2. new models that have very tight bandages instead of floaty ones, which makes armor textures work better on those models down the road
3. a female model, instead of using androgynous models they (and brokers) used until now

could they be making some "aditional playable race BUNDLE" outside of the normal expansion bundle ? like SWTOR have. maybe thats how they will add some races, we know they really increased the number of items at the online store.

The audio log is definitely tied to actual lore so I don't think it's just a secret finder thing.

Definitely given to them to publish. Blizzard re-tweeted them so I'm guessing it's part of a push to market the patch while also elevating content creators.

All of the forces are timeless outside of maybe Order. I say maybe, because I'm still expecting there to be a bait and switch with the Titans being the Pantheon of Order.

In the same sense that Shadowlands was "timeless"

Because it answers so many questions regarding the Infinite Dragonflight and the End Time.

What if we don't get male or female body types but Body Type 1 "ethereals" and Body Type 2 "brokers" playable K'areshi. That would be wild

This is also very interesting- a french WoW ad with a High Elf (Velf) and Amani (using Darkspear model) talking. My assumption is they didn't want to reveal the new Amani model yet, but this is still very blatant.

I just realize that you can't fly in phase diving? Assuming we get world tiers and dynamic ground mounts with Midnight, maybe that's how they handle the flying vs ground mount issue - you simply cant fly on the highest world tiers?

Interesting, I could see it. Ground mounts really do feel left behind since we got dragonriding, everytime blizz adds a new ground mount people complain as it is deemed useless. I still enjoy ground mounts in bg/arena, but yeah, they do need something going forward, Idk how DRIVE would translate to all ground mounts, but it needs to happen, ground mounts at 100% speed aren't exciting anymore now that we've had 700-800% speed dynamic flight from day 1.

I've wondered how they would tackle it going into Midnight. I do miss being grounded at times, especially at launch, but it also feels nice to just dragonride anywhere.
I've thought maybe warmode could experiment with no-flying, but phase diving/shattered timeline sounds like something that could be evergreen going forward, what if every Midnight zone have 2 phases with slightly different content, 1 phase with dynamic flight, and 1 with dynamic ground mounts only? Both sides are happy, and it doubles up on content?

I mean, it's Microsoft we are talking about. In the end, if it brings us MORE races than we would have gotten, aswell as races outside of the "it has to fit the expansion storyline" rule than it would be good for the game, so I wouldn't mind it. But for sure people would complain if f.e. the racials were broken or if its something that should be patch content because it fits the Expansion theme (especially as we got free allied races with BfA).

Okay, question. Assuming two things (that are far from confirmed):
- If Demon Hunter gets extended to the Elvish allied races
- And if High Elves really do become playable without any monkey paw nonsense

What Horde race will get DH to balance it out and not have 3 Alliance and 2 Horde races play Demon Hunter?
(Hoping for Vulpera because the forum meltdown would be amazing)
