I was one of the idiots saying bad stuff about pandas then when i was younger 13 years ago, but for many years now i really appreciate MoP as a whole and how badass stuff was.

I wonder if Metzen will show up at Gamescom, i got a feeling he won't because it seems like he enjoys creating stuff now in peace and not being "out there" in the front too much, but it would be hype to see him.

I mean I won't blame you. Even as a freakin weeb I was hugely critical of MoP. In my defense we were just after Cataclysm where Uldum with all its cool vibes and deep lore was reduced to the adventures of Harrison Jones and the outdated memes.

I didn't have the stomach for watching Luce Bree endure casual racism across the leveling process.

But MoP did pretty good in that regard. If I want to be nitpicky, the elemental spirits on the Wandering Isle corresponded to the Greek four elements not the five elements of the wuxing and the four guardians had the dragon changed from azure to jade and the black tortoise to black ox. But these are minute details compared to the more mature storytelling we have seen.

Once again, BfA was the goat. Seeing Teldrassil burning was sooooo good.

Wtf no?? MOP trailer literally was the best one we got (especially for that time), followed by Legion and the Shadowlands CGI one.

It was a pretty significant downgrade from the Wrath and Cata gameplay trailers.

BfA had an awesoem cinematic, and awesome gameplay reveal and the entire panel was hype. After Azshara came up it was a total party. The logo was one of the best, and the title promised an epic expansion.
I still, for the love of every deity, can't understand how they fucked it up so bad BfA kinda became a slur. It had so much promise.

Hell no, I still get goosepumps everytime I watch the MoP one. I don't even remember the Wrath one honestly, and Cata was cool but miles from the MoP one.

That said, maybe the fact that I played WotlK+Cata made the MoP one better since the little intro at the start spoke to me.

Honestly I don't understand people's obsession with "testosterone oiled up guys fighting", we've had enough of that for years, it's almost so one dimensional.
I have no problem with it but it's honestly one of the reasons I stopped watching Asmon as well, all he talks about is the golden days and sweaty men fighting and shitting on retail. Sure it's bloated and needs a soft reset (coming after wss imo) but Blizzard is allowed to do different storylines as they see fit, and come on their budget hasn't been reduced, WSS cinematic with Anduin and Thrall was top tier and I'd be willing to bet Midnight is gonna totally surpass it.

Not shitting on you Magnificus just I don't see anything wrong with sentiment and a more nuanced story if WoWs gonna continue for another 20 years.

I mean I understand how you would view the Legion cinematic that way. But BfA was mostly war.

I guess it wasn't really all that emotionally touching besides the "why do we fight" speech at the end, mostly because of the slapstick fighting. It's not bad, just not as good as say WotLK, Cata, BfA, Shadowlands or Legion Cinematics. Oh Dragonflight was also great. TWW on the other hand .... was kinda boring aswell? But maybe that was because I'm not really interested in Anduin and Thrall tbh. Would rather have gotten Alleria or Xal.

BFA had great cinematics in my opinion, from emotional jaina etc stuff, to Rastakhan blood bargains with bwonsamdi, to fights.

Come on Legion and BfA had some amazing story that wasn't just "feeling". Illidans rejection of the gift is insane of how good it was (my favorite ingame cinematic). BfA cinematic was top notch. I personally don't see anything wrong with character development, some of it feels a little to "childish" but I don't see anything wrong with a good balance. Me and you are just 2 of millions of people playing the game. As garrosh said, times change and we need a good balance.

I'm trying to manage my own expectations a bit, because such things would obviously be amazing. I'm currently just not seeing it happen.
