No, there's not even a book about it. Just that they needed special suits to survive there which is why they look different.

Some books talk about the transference of energies from the different planes, that and other hints (some also seen in Shadowlands) point towards a very sophisticated level of technology in Ethereal/Broker culture, which made traveling from plane to plane possible.

This bit of lore is told throughout a children's fairytale; The narrative could be far from objective. We whould keep our eyes out for further developments of these bits of lore come Midnight (with our return to Quel'thalas), but it should otherwise be treated as something 'vague' and almost apocryphal.

He only pops into Dornogal to call us over, so even if he did hear bits and pieces, he's not around remotely enough to get the proper story.
