Yeah but funnily enough, most people would have expected a phoenix for that not a fucking dragonhawk. Customizable phoenix, 5 colours (dark red, orange with pink, purple, pink with blue, yellow) with some cool armour. But I guess they already did two blue phoenixes for 6 months and the anniversery so went with something else instead >_>

I'd be all for adding updated racial mounts! I think it's important to keep the old models as well. Not sure if you meant replacing or adding.

Raptors make sense, all the Belf ones of course, and I think the Blood Elf Charger will HAVE to get an update at this point.

Which makes me think the Human Charger will also get an update, as they share a rig/model.

They started to do that with Kodos and some other stuff like the Amani Bears, but it seems like someone at Blizzard veto'ed the continuation with "what if people like the old models more" so we get new mounts instead which never look like a HD version of the originals :/

idk where this whole Phoenix thing is coming from.

Dragonhawks are way more symbolic of Quel'thalas than phoenixes are. If anything, the only thing that connects phoenixes and QT is Kael'thas, who definitely won't be in at launch I would imagine.

I wonder if the expansion will be steeped in TBC nostalgia (with TLT doing the same with WotLK). The Alliance starting out in Azuremyst after recieving summosn from Velen, while the Horde goes straight to Quel'Thalas.

Outland could even play a role either during the pre-launch experience or as a major patch zone.

I meant like maybe adding old ones to some legacy racial mounts vendor and new ones to the vendor that has them now, i know there are some wolves for example from wod, some raptors here and there, but i think it would be cool if racial vendor sold updates ones too, with current graphics.

Yeah Belfs still didn't get any updates to the vendor racial mounts either, i feel like it's time to have it done now that we're coming back.

I am glad because Blizzard just completely misses a lot.

Prime example: Talbuks. Both new ones look terrible compared to the old ones, and I'd be pissed if they replaced the old ones. I would say the Kodos don't hit the same as well, but idk.

Wolves as well, the WoD ones just aren't hitting the same way the old ones do.

I feel that. Going back to an iconic zone we've already visited is really hard to nail because everyone has an idea how it should look like and obviously not everyone can be right.

But i'm also a bit afraid of the gameplay side of things. I really don't know if a Legion 6.0 - but this time with a house - will be enough.

    Not just Kael'Thas, right?

The entire Sunstrider dynasty uses fire and phoenixes unless I am mistaken. The founder of the kingdom, Dath'Remar Sunstrider, saw Felo'melorn in a dream before he even departed the Kaldorei lands. If you want to speculate, maybe Queen Craishae's ancestors were Sunstriders?

Ya know, I wonder if it would be a cool idea to have Chapter 1 of each campaign different per faction, then merging at Chapter 2.

It'd be really cool to have the Horde charge right into Quel'thalas like you said, take the brunt of the initial attack and have the Alliance show up to bolster their forces. It'd be a cool way to continue the faction division quests, but also streamline things.

I mean, they use iconography, obviously with the Blood Elves being "reborn", but it's never really been a case of actual phoenixes.

I'm on the fence gameplay wise-- it's pretty evident that housing should not be considered a "gameplay" feature as it's made by a completely seperate team and meant to be a larger evergreen feature. That leads me to wonder... then what? I personally really, really hope for class halls, I think they were a great addition and would work wonders.

  14. #96854
Class Halls are a cool concept but... they don't really do much? I genuinely don't see what people want from them other than "every now and then they will add a questline here".

Class Halls worked in Legion because you had artifacts and the mission table, so you had a reason to go there.

Class Halls without the content already exist: they are the current class halls.

Maybe it's a bit similar to the famous Stormwind lion.

But I do think they will explore the whole sun and fire connection which Quel'Thalas is obviously steeped in.

I definitely agree on this. It's fun when not everything is homogenised. It'd be nice for a change to have exclusive stories, where Alliance NPCs can talk to you like you're on the Alliance, and vice versa.

That's very true. The Emerald Dream is another example.

Oh man they definitely have a chance to reveal Lions in the Arathi area, that would be great.

Sure. And Class Halls without the content always exist within the timeline of the Legion's invasion. I had fun, I'd like to see what it could do against an invasion of the Void. I'm not expecting questlines here and there from Class Halls 2.0, I'd be expecting something a lot more involved with changes that fit the modern game. If that means Artifact weapons, sweet. If not, that's okay. I have faith that Blizzard wouldn't implement them for a quest every now and then.

That being said, I like the quests from them. The biggest thing they do is worldbuilding, and I think that's a super important thing in an RPG.

That brings up a good point- they did it with Arathi. So I think we may get dual faction stories in the zones. Consider:

    Eversong: Quel/Rendorei and Sindorei
Ghostlands: Forsaken and Human (or Night Elf)
Amani: Troll and Dwarf (if Wildhammer)

Separate stories, but cooperation, and the same zone instead of being split like BFA.

Well but the talbuks never were 1:1 HD remakes like lets say, the Amani Bears or the Kodos. And unless we get some patch on a dying Outland the chances to get tbc style Talbuks is quite small I guess (unless A'dal brings them with his forces and they end up on a reputation vendor lol).

The phoenix isn't just of Kael'thas, it's the poster animal of the Sunstrider dynasty and the official eblem of Quel'thalas.
It is also the most iconic spell that blood mages are known for, which is why Kael'thas uses them in the first place.

Phoenix iconography is plastered everywhere where Blood elves settle around.
You can't walk 10 yards around silvermoon without seeing it, even their architecture, those wings on their towers are phoenix wings, same on winged window decorations.

The Sunfury Spire is literally modeled after their eblem.
