A veteran who lived for a good bit over ten times his species' natural lifespan in a state of constant war in one of the most horrific places in the universe is understandably peeved when the Original Overrated Blue Elf Mary Sue (Sylvanas, eat your heart out) vaporizes an otherwise-benevolent wise alien being who has been a continual beacon of hope in said war after it did something probably completely unprecedented from said veteran's perspective. Veteran then gets over it immediately thereafter. This, of course, speaks to his zealotry.

One week away(ish) from MAYBE Ethereal confirmation! If they want to get 11.2.5 news out before Gamescom.
Ah Velonara, yes she deserves some love. She is pretty cool.

Hopefully they will finally loosen up on cloth/leather/mail/plate restrictions, it makes no sense that i still can't use these garrison sets on any class.

Remember, these people were countrymen as recently as a few years ago. They are all from the same place more or less. They can overcome their differences, the primary one being that the void elves presence can corrupt the Sunwell. If that is overcome, there is nothing keeping them apart.
Maybe the Sunwell turns into the Twilight Well, alternating between light and void like the Beledar does. You could even argue that is a kind of balance.

I do sort of wonder, if they get rid of armor type restrictions on transmog, if there's then even any reason to have armor types as a gameplay function. If we are at, or will soon be at, the point where warriors are allowed to run around in robes and mages in plate, then why preserve the idea of armor categories to begin with? The RPG flavor aspect of the system seems minor if the visuals are already unshackled.

    Enjoying K'aresh.

No problems but a few lag spikes here and there.

I'm liking Xal'athat. She is criticized for failing but that's actually what makes her interesting. She keeps fighting and finds a way while angering everyone around her. Lovely.

Also I have a doubt. There is this quest in which a Broker steps out of his containment suit to help us survive, and so we see a K'areshi in his "true" energized form.

Is this model new? Because I was looking at it for a while. If it is reminiscent of the original K'areshi in some way, it's given me some cool Protoss vibes.
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.

I rewatched Metzens interview on the wowcast from 11 months ago and honestly it feels like it's probably what's gonna happen, he seems to be a big advocate of letting people play how they want and how important customizations are for them going forward. Watch it be a slider/toggle lol.

He also suggested that the story will ramp up considerably after part 1(TWW), and that the sword will be dealt with in TLT and "it'll be bigger then we can imagine". Oh and they have ideas for expansions up to 17.0 so far.

I’m all for removing transmog restrictions. Yet I’m not sure on removing armor types. Perhaps it could be revamped instead? Plate takes tanking stats, mail gets healing stats, leather gets physical dps stats and cloth gets magical dps stats.

Than people could build out if they want some more survivability, or more healing power, or tanks and healer could get a bit more dps if they are capped in their needed stats.

Feels like it would be totally pointless for DPS who are the majority of players and I feel like encouraging even more "you need to be prioritizing DPS" into the healer role is the opposite of what needs to change for them. Also it'd make plate armor completely undesirable but leather and cloth in constant demand.

In a world without armor types, everyone would want every piece of loot, which would be worse?

I just don't see the urgency to get to the finish line and expanding it slowly/when it is needed.

I'd prefer a filled out, comprehensive Quel'thalas than one confined to the scale of the original so that it fits together nicely.
Let's not forget Silvermoon has never been updated in years and is only specifically being updated because there's a 75% chance its ending up the new neutral city for the upcoming expansion

Blizzard's time could be spent updating old zones, orr they could just make a new area. Let's not forget how 'great' Cataclysm's reputation is, especially internally at Blizz where it notoriously went well over development

I still reckon the draenei city could just be a player housing thing. Not a place in the world, just a new place for housing

In Midnight, we'll get a revamped Quel'Thalas, new Hero Talents, Void and Blood Elves merged into High Elves (choose your style) with more races following later, Housing as the major feature to continously bring small rewards and content through Renown tracks and quests, major additions to Character Customisation bringing all races up to the level of Dracthyr, and Glyphs will make a return as a way to customise the appearance of spells and abilities.
I'm gonna feel real bad at the crashout that happens if playable ethereal aren't a thing

Don't think this was directed at me, but anyways my 2 cents.

I personally do not criticize her for failing. I generally prefer flawed characters. It is why the larger than life heroes that WoW and high fantasy in general likes so much, tend to not resonate with me. And also why I often find it forced and odd when they DO mess up.

What I don't like about Xal'atath failing is that it turns the whole TWW story into a mess. The villain's plan got derailed and for the patch cycle she is just trying to get back her footing to continue where she left off in X.0 while the heroes are a step behind her trying to react to her reacting while the actual plot is driven by mistakes and random people taking advantage of the situation. This is the plot structure of a comedy movie.

Yes, Xal manages the salvage so well she ends up on top at the end of Kh'aresh, but the expansion as a whole is a mess. Or rather I should say, I view it as a mess.

You mean for loot rolls? Yeah that could be messy. Unless there are still restrictions on that and you can just buy transmog only cosmetic versions of gear. Buy as in with ingame gold that is.

How the intercourse would Void and Blood Elves merge? One is on the Horde and one is on the Alliance? Would they become a neutral race?

Dracthyr level customization, huh? Honestly at this day and age that is the minimum.

The issue is that if a boss drops, for example, four pieces of armor, one of each type, two players (the tanks) want the plate piece, ~3 players want the mail piece, and then ~7 players each are competing over the cloth and leather pieces. There are a LOT of physical DPS specs and ranged DPS specs and a handful of healing and tank specs (and players).

If instead four pieces of loot drop and all 20 players could use any of those pieces, substats aside, then you are more or less where you are now, but with more flexibility: The raid will just parse out loot to the people they think need it the most at the time.

Which is arguably an improvement over now where potentially something drops and your leather wearers already have gloves so it just gets DE'd or whatever. Because in that hypothetical anyone who still needs gloves could use them.

calling back to the comments about the ky'vessa delve with her "training" you on her attacks and it being very unclear if she actually dies at the end

that's just more fuel for the "ky'vessa training new void demon hunters" angel ive been pushing the phase reaper npcs fight a lot like demon hunters already, ethereals need a "special" class and shaman/druid are very unlikely with paladin being kinda "eh"

people want more demon hunter races

the void dh questline specifically ends with our velf friend looking for someone to train her

ky'vessa is the coolest npc added in TWW and it would be kind of a waste for her to only show up in one raid fight and one delve fight, especially when she was mentioned in the audio drama

You've said it a few times and you've been wrong everytime. The void isn't their enemy, it wasn't the void who overtook their homeland of Argus. Quite frankly speaking it's not their problem.

When Sargares re-enters the equation when it becomes an issue for them.

Regarding the 3rd Demon Hunter spec, there's literally an interview recap on the front page of MMO Champion confirming they have no plans for it. They did it for lore reasons. Again it's probably a reason to correlate Demon Hunters into the story when Sargeras re-enters the fray which makes logical sense to be honest.

The immortal Prophet Velen believes that a great war between the darkness and the light is fast approaching and that Azeroth will be its principal battleground. He stands bravely beside his allies to ensure Azeroth is ready when the time comes.

If you think the Darkness is referring to the Void and not the fel, you're simple as fuck. Sorry to say.
