I know it's a quiet leak season but I cannot believe we're even considering that the screenshots with the Jailer were real.
The preorder editions stuff probably will end up being the only thing that leaked.

We also havent seen a kissing scene, its not like we need to see these things perse. Xal and Alleria already had alot of screentime. I rather see blood elves opening up in Silvermoon.. you know their city. Really Xsl is so boring, I just wouldnt care if she appears or not.

Ye the three are frontpage. I figured..
Yup and I hate it, we need more blood elves. Alleria leading doesnt sound interesting to me... tww already showed me enough of her to be fair. But there is no way around it I am afraid. We are stuck with her, uch.

It's been discussed for the last 10 pages, it's fake and it makes no sense in an expansion about elves and the attack on Quel'thalas. It has absolutely 0 references for us to speculate on and even worse they use the Jailer which is the worst received villian, wont happen.
Not trying to be a dick, shadowlands lore is here to stay, but this makes no sense given Midnight.
Does it have to be an opening cinematic? We've seen Xal'atath in a CGI cinematic, wasn't the opening one though.

Fair enough. For the record I don’t think it’s actually real. Nor would I particularly want the Jailer to return, especially in a Quel’thalas expansion.
My point was more that we have very little else to discuss at the moment as far as actual “leaks” go and more so that regardless of opinions on the quality of the image - it is still an alleged leak until proven otherwise.
To play devils advocate, a still image from a cinematic set in Silithus featuring Thrall and Anduin isn’t indicative of an expansion set underground featuring Alleria, Magni and Xal’atath as the primary characters of launch content with Earthen as our main allies and Nerubians being the main antagonistic force.
Context is everything. Who knows what a hypothetical cinematic based from that image could actually involve.

The "Blizzard Presents" text line IIRC is solely used for announcements/trailers.

I'll bet that we'll get a pretty hefty summary of it a day or two before. The fact it's a non-Blizzcon convention leads me to believe that we're more likely to see a slip up since there's a lot of other things going on.

I still remember the last E3 Blizzard was at and the Draenei reveal leaking like the day or two before. But without any actual context.
As I recall, we got a few screenshots of their starting area in Azuremyst (a few NPCs standing around) and the mural of Velen. So people went wild with theories, personal favorite being the whole "the April Fool's wisp thing was actually foreshadowing! We're playing eredar corpses possessed by wisps! We'll be in Hyjal!" As well as "that bearded dude is obviously Khadgar, changed by energies!"
Ahh, good times.
True. I think us having the framework already is throwing off our real or fake detectors.
It's funny too, seeing the leaks that have Northeron in them immediately get written off because Northeron has only recently entered the conversation, but something like that feels like it could genuinely be the one thing that makes us write off a real leak.
Uncharted waters for sure.

I completely agree, and that's my point. I think Northeron is totally in the equation, and I think that the references in Trading Post mounts are, if anything, evidence towards that.
Even though all of that may be so, fake leak posters will co-opt that information as well and muddy the waters even further. The recency bias of discovering the Trading Post mount description will cause it to be written off, but it's also a legitimately clue for speculation.
The monkey's paw of the hype train.
Man, I guess because we know the name of the next xpact I haven't been all that interested in learning about any leaks.
Half of the fun things was seeing the fake logos and names - does anyone else feel the same?

It'd be nice to have ercarp back for his leak spreadsheet but it'd be pretty boring this time around, we have like 4-5 leaks from what I know so far.
I guess we also have the youtube French and German shorts which one leak had the same races but it was way to detailed, the preorder datamine was great but doesn't tell us much in terms of features/content/story.
I'm half expecting a bunch of Gamescom leaks later this week/next Monday.
Never say never I guess; and yah you make a good point lol, considering their cinematic was about the sword which Metzen said won't be solved until 13.0 is pretty irrelevant to TWW, from what we know it'll be heavily void vs light and it'll involve the 4 portrait chars heavily.
Oh and supposedly the story is supposed to ramp up considerably in Midnight and LTL according to Metzen so maybe something in the shadowlands might happen, Sylvanas is def coming back for Midnight somehow as well.

An easy nostalgia bait could be a cinematic where Xal'atath monolgues inflating our egos, reminding us of the final bosses of each expansions with shots of each of their demises (Arthas lying in icecrown, deathwing's hanging chin, fried Garrosh in the rock hand, etc.), With Zovaal just showing for a moment. Kinda like the in-game cinematic they did when they announced MoP.
Feels like it'd be a lot of work on the artist's end, though.
Things like the shadowlands banners being leaked is very likely. Gamescom has tons of people running around i'm sure we will see some deko element or merch stuff.
Blizzard also keeps being the most reliable leaker with constant slipups in various places over the years.
