I'm finding myself hesitating to believe the whiteboard leak, just because of the omitted zones.

Borean Tundra, I can get behind; I'd personally be a little upset, but I understand. Grizzly Hills, Howling Fjord, and to some extent, Zul'Drak feel a bit odd.

Grizzly Hills and Howling Fjord, duh. They're fan favorite zones. Of course, their omission feels bad. Zul'Drak, I'm not too curious about because of its popularity, but...

These 3 zones will have had a lot of usable, modern day assets built from Dragonflight (Azure Span) and Midnight (Zul'Aman). I always sort of assumed that the direction they were going in for the Saga not only involved a throughline for plot points (duh), but also maximizing art assets. That's not to say they'll be a 1 for 1 situation, Zul'Drak will not be identical to Zul'Aman, but there will be soe similarity in them at least with assets to build off of. Azure Span in mind for Grizzly Hills and Howling Fjord.

Isn't the only thing that could leak from Gamescom the cinematic? I don't think gameplay stuff would be shown unless it's a small trailer immediately after. Most info would come from the youtube video.

perhaps from the booth? decorations and flyers and stuff? There was that DF leak with the promo material. Also the Bastion promo material leak for SL.

Technically there could be a banner or some sort of thing that is being used near the booth that could maybe spoil something but thats' about it.

yeah, kind how i feel too. Borean Tundra is a "eh, whatever, sure". But the three whole zones on the other side? I could see if they were reduced or a bit destroyed. But completely gone? That would be like WoD not having Shadowmoon Valley, Taanan Junlge and Nagrand, and just be about Gorgrond, Frostfire Ridge, Talador and Spires of Arak. Or now for Quel'thalas be just Eversong Woods and Quel'danas. No Amani area, no Ghostlands, no other areas.

I'd put a lot more stock in Sholazar having a big impact, especially in context of a Titan-focused expansion and the possibility of the Rootlands.

I personally love the Borean Tundra. I think it's an incredible worldbuilding zone for Northrend in general. It's such a great introductory landing, fighting off the attack at the walls of Valiance Keep, slowly meeting Tuskarr, fighting Liches, a little Horde/Alliance conflict, and the Nexus as a side zone...

That said, aside from the Nexus, it feels the most expendable.

I doubt that was accidental. They're probably going to open pre-orders right after gamescon so they had to include it in this patch.

Granted, turning one of the most iconic and liked zones in the game into a series of islands sounds par for the course where Blizzard's ineptitude is concerned.
