It's one of those things where I agree on the basis that it would be nice to have. But disagree on getting it because it wouldnt just take 10 expansions, it would take 30, given we would also be having expansions in Avaloren, the moon, South Pole, etc.

By the time we are done, Quel'thalas enjoyers would be clamoring for another revamp, rather than WoW 26.0 "Botani of Desolace"

I want a world revamp but it would also be an awful decision to do it before the end of TLT, because I'd imagine a large status quo shift, whereas dropping it before or even on the final chapter would put us in the same awkward place as how dated (and confusing to new players) Cataclysm is.

World content at max level is possible even in the present world, though. Different layer/phase void invasions or the like.
Why though? Focusing the advertising on Housing makes way more sense, and then have the big reveal about what zones Midnight will have next week. Absence of proof isnt proof of absence.

    Awesome.

    Streaming housing showcases as well.
I'm so excited they're doing developer panels.

Part of what I miss the most from the BlizzCons of yore are those panels. Wish they'd go more into the obscure stuff like they used to, though, like having an art panel, a voice acting panel, etc.

Music panel was the best one. Bunch of music nerds talking about stuff they are passionate about was infinitely more exciting than carefully curated bits of overly engineered "interviews".

Yup. It also made the company more transparent somehow. You started to recognise devs over the years, like Mumper, Ghostcrawler, Chris Robinson, and Ion. Even more junior devs would get the limelight sometimes when they did the live zone design sessions etc.

i was looking at the Lemix video, the dev was talking about how they like somethings of diablo and that made then think about outdoor world tiers,

Could they get any more things of diablo for wow? transmog system would be great

Im excited for reveal, but i did cut off all my hopium inhalers and i doubt anything that i would personally would like to see announced will be there, maybe i will be pleasantly surprised by something or not i guess.

If we are talking pure blue sky hope for Midnight, then I will, as always, hope for removal of transmog limitations on armour, and dracthyr being able to transmog everything.

Legitimately, the feature I want most is the ability to change how many characters are seen around your campfires on the login screen, lol.

    I don't like the arbitrary number 4!

Why do we need new starting zones? If they revamp they old world I want them to do so as modern expansion zones. Imagine asking the devs for "8 new tutorials, one for each race. I want a cornucopia of content people describe as the worst part of a game & everyone tries to skip"

How is the current transmog system different from Diablo's?

I just want them to use that unused zone north of Stratholme. I don't care what they use it for or what it's named.

Probably a harbour, who are we kidding. A major kingdom needs a port.

Absence of proof not being proof of absence can extend to literally anything and everything. Even verbally soft-deconfirmed ("no current plans") things at this point.

But much of the new hotness not being shown to us is largely to avoid plot spoilers, hence the timing of the patch schedule with Gamescom in the first place. Explaining a world revamp without specifics would still generate a ton of interest just like housing. But at every turn the presentation of the direction of the expansion has been a QT revamp. Even Xal's own motivations she threatened Alleria with at the close of the Dimensius cinematic imply a targeted QT invasion rather than a generalized Deathwing worldwide upheaval.

We've done this dance every two years since post-Mists. Anything is technically possible, but they have a perfectly good reason to do a revamp after a very large status quo shift implied by a trilogy advertised to cap off the last 30 years or so.

They also definitively said that they're looking to get these expansions out quicker. A full revamp without a complete rehaul of the scale required to mesh with skyriding would be an unmitigated disaster which is why they're completely redoing QT rather than doing a quest refresh and also 4 completely new areas.

The game being completely redone overnight in a new engine and players being given all the dev tools to create their own raids and dungeons also lacks evidence of absence, but it's still a pipe dream.

Dev panel three days in will be a rough wait. Hopefully the gameplay trailer is meaty.

    Ah of only:

The invasion is called the "Voidstorm".

The eye of the storm of called "Eye of Azshara".

The ground underneath the storm is refered to as "The Dark Below".

A lot of it will already be covered in the gameplay reveal after ONL as per the quote here:

These developer presentations will serve the same purpose as the previously announced Midnight Expansion Reveal broadcast.
There will probably be some additional depth and all that, but probably don't expect any huge announcements that aren't in the Warcraft Direct/WoWCast/whatever format it has.

Yeah, it's safe to bet that future revamps would be focused on max level content. No one wants to revamp the initial questlines of the different races to do them maybe once and never again. Content dead on arrival.

Give me evergreen Class Order Halls where we get Class Questlines that act like a true tutorial for the game and our class, while being the place where we get and deliver the quests that we choose to focus on any given day.

Some profession gathering? Rare kills? A questline of a certain zone? A Dungeon? Give us the freedom to do what we want while rewarding us with Class Cosmetics with the new World Tier System.
