I believe they are going the route of factions will be irrelevant in terms of Horde vs Alliance. We're literally fighting cosmic level threats, and doesn't look like it'll stop anytime soon.

It leads me to believe it'll be more Azeroth vs cosmic forces. Maybe in the future it'll change but ever since they started adding cross faction content it seems it's all changed. My opinion anyway

And how many Alliance NPCs have *died* lately. Please tell me.

I wouldn't look too much into this, though, of course the Silver Covenant are gonna be in the Elf expansion.

I could imagine that they "somehow" hide the real race name behind some customisation and let's you chose if you want to be HE/BE for horde or HE/VE for alliance

just because VEs were a mistake (maybe) making a second mistake (adding HEs after VEs) doesn't eradicate the first one, except if they would reset the whole race system, which is highly unlikely.

this could be the purpose of this item,... just lets you be named "high elf" in the game to settle this once and for all (even if you are a HE/VE)
