Only thing I will say in favor of high elves is I think blue and silver is a good color combination.

But we could get that color combination in gear without needing high elves to be their own separate race.

And give us Void Elf Paladins

It could be Arator, I mean he's got his own portrait in the epic edition, he's in the new book coming out in November, and another book mentioned how he now resides in Silvermoon.

I'd love to see Lor'themar in a cinematic as a hordie, but I just feel like they're building Arator up. In the new book art he wears Belf colours, the blue in the sword might signify the alliance pull.

No the gem and the sword handle matches Lor'themar's sword. I've checked that before.

There is nothing I have seen so far in this patch that points to that, but I also have only done a cursory pass so far.

What are your thoughts on the new coat(s) shaping?

Lor'themar's gem is yellow isn't it? Ever since The blood elves took on the light in the sunwell, the match his eyes.

Edit, my bad- I was still looking at his 2012 short story art, haha

I'm expecting Midnight to have a bronze dragon with the skinny human visage form to get stuck on the deeprun tram.

The coat thing is definitely the most juicy bit of info so far. Something is gaining the ability to use transmog. And going by the body shape both Ethereals and Dracthyr are possible options. Ethereals would be great, but I am going to be selfish enough to say that of the two, I would be the happiest with transmog for Dracthyr.

I swear to God I'll never understand how Blizzard can be so fucking lazy and tone-deaf when it comes to character customization. Playable Ethereals would be a great way to cap TWW and it seems Blizz wasted it, and I don't think Etherals will get as much spotlight as they have now anytime soon.

Amani are supposed to be buff trolls. They should look a lot different from Darkspear and Zandalari Trolls.

High Elves on the other hand, blood elfs with blue eyes. They need a whole new skeleton and updated textures/animations to make people excited.

Here's the thing: apparently there's two coats. Haven't seen the other one but that implies a Body Type 1 2 situation, IMO.

Ty for the reply earlier btw! So would you say that this doesn't line up with what we've seen of new races being added previously in patches like Vulpera?

I don't think he has thoughts about that yet.

Ethereals were never going to be made playable in TWW. The only possible place they could be made playable is Midnight. Blizzard does not add races mid-expansion, they only add Allied Races.

It could imply several things. Most likely it would definitely mean a new race. But then again, Dracthyr do in a way have wo body options given the very slight differences between the skinny body types and the bulkiest one (the bulky one had broader shoulders), so that is an option.

Simultaneously, the Ethereals don't really have two body options either. Unless there are very slight differences between models, then there is just one Ethereal with different gendered voices.
Could of course be assumed there would be two different options being made assuming they become playable to make it fit. But given nothing indicated that to be the case at this time, it's effectively a worthless argument.

Really, the coat thing is entirely up in the air. For all we know it could be that one version is made for Dracthyr, and one is made for Ethereals, since both probably just need the one variant each.

    Exciting stuff regardless.
