Hot take? They had more planned for them in later patches with us fixing the coreway and descending into the depths of Azeroth to explore the Manifold and free the worldsoul.

Oh there was absolutely more planned. Like another zone under Azj-Kahet for sure.
There was a major reshuffling when the Worldsoul Saga became the plan.

On that note, lemme ask a question. Was it ever clearly said, that the WSS is only these three expansions? Like...there isn't a fourth one after TLL?
Cause I've listened to the TWW reveal, and Metzen never said the Worldsoul Saga is a trilogy. Just that they are revealing three expansions to show that they have a plan.

I think this is the most important part. Any significant divergence from Human Male/Female and most mogs look like ass. Elves work reasonably well. As do Zandalari, Draenei Females and other roughly human shaped that are not crouching. Everything else and it is a clipping nightmare especially if it is shorter or more round. I remember early in the AI thread someone had asked the AI to make some WoW pandaren and the males were all human-proportioned YIFF furry bait and I just immediately thought, damn if Pandaren looked like this in game, transmogs would look great on them and so many more would play them.

Considering the odd absence of Xal'atath from this list of characters, despite her being present in the cinematic, this is definitely not real.
Xal is the main villain of the saga. Every know shot of the trailer features her. Her feet are all over ingame cinematics. Her portrait is a preorder bonus. But instead of her the promos shots show Not-Naga Azshara and General Unsalted-Margarine. Yeah, right

Because nobody cares about beastly races, ugly races, or weird races. Players literally just want to look sexy, live out their hot Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter fantasies, and look good in transmog. That's all there's to it, and why like 90% of the playerbase are either elves or humans.

Boring people win the day I guess.

I don't always know if that's true, I think even people who enjoy elves can want something else once in awhile whether that be a beast race or something like a Dwarf. I'd even be cool if we did get another beautiful race, but I just don't know how cool it would be if it were the same skeleton reused, I do really like Nozdormu's belf/nelf hybrid look tho

@Hearthfinder is totally wrong and he knows it. Sure people like beautiful near perfection front page model type looks - it's why elves are sooo popular.. but he forgets people [play other races too, and not all play characters they think are hot.

Boys love beats - pet snakes, monster dogs, tigers, lions - there is something majestic about them.. this is why we make such cool monster races.. he ofrgets that people, especially boys, find monsters COOL !! - girls too, but far less in my experience anyway.

Saying that the proportion is what counts, monster races are average popularity at best - but their forte is that htey have proper dedicated followers and fans - remember furry conveentions - while the peopel really into that are a much smaller percentage, theya re avery fanatical and obsessive as well as loyal one. So you awlays want to have some monster races too.

monster races are never enough to carry - they're just not popular enough or main stream,.. you don't want an expansion that only 15% of your playerbase is really excited.. but you don't want to aonly give b arbie doll type races either.

youre best option is to give both, one monster one normal.. or like Dracthyr , one htat has either form so players can choose.

I don't think I've ever been as indifferent to a race or class added in WoW as I was to the earthen.

They had the best side story we've had since Runas with the dementia quest line. My pala earthen that I leveled from 10-70 without killing a single mob has become one of my favorite characters, even tho I was lukewarm to them too at first

You do know that furries want fap bait, right? They want cat girls and cat (fem)boys, not Tauren or Orcs.

Worgen work well because of the gothic horror angle for boys and the dark romance angle for girls.
They eat that shit up. Demon, fallen angles, werewolves and vampires that could rip their guts out, but nobody cares cause they are hot.
Danger can be sexy if done right.

i'm not sure this is fake. AI usually botches those elf ears.

They all have the same "glowing outline" that indicates a light behind them shining onto them, which AI could have issues to replicate as consistently across all characters. The armor on Turalyon and Lor'themar is also sound, something AI easily botches 99% of the time. The one thing that makes me halt is the "wristband" on Turalyons right hand, it blue/red and has some purple dangling from it. That is something from his real art. AI could have easily botched that detail

It's not really a questiong of being able to grasp it or not. I think most people find some sort of appeal in having various races of different types, but at the end of the day the numbers don't lie.

And there is nothing wrong with that.
Most of my characters are Worgen and Pandaren cause i like the culture and aesthetics attached to them (minus the way plate armor wobbles around the fat bellies of male pandaren. ugh)

But I'm an autistic weirdo writing vampire fiction. I'm not most people. And an MMO needs to appeal to most people. And in a spectrum that goes from Hogger to Astarion, characters that lean more towards the latter, sell better.

You can like it or dislike it, but this is the reality.
