Okay, TO BE FAIR HERE, she has appeared in her elf form before during Legion. Assuming this isn't fake, it is possible she might've done a similar thing here.

She appeared to Farondis with an elf illusion so he could recognize her, because she wanted to torment him.

She does not actively hang out with an elf glamour.
Azshara adores her form and its power.

But even so, it just feels like yet another wasted use of Azshara. She is a character that is good enough to carry an expansion, there's no reason to have her share an expansion with another villain that is incredibly similar to her.

Yeah I did not want to list everything. I think Orcs (upright) and Female Trolls and Forsaken all can do mogs reasonably well.
Also I think sacrificing helmet mogs is easy to do and removes most of the elf clipping plus reduces some of the worst distortions (e.g. worgen and tauren). Most CRPGs have a no helmet option (or a mod); people want to be able to see their characters' faces. Personally I go no helm or use something like a crown or something that floats.

They are also core races that had fans since the RTS games.
Which is why Ogre and Naga are still being requested and hoped despite them not being pretty elves with easy to fit transmog.

But gnomes and goblines rank very low, lower than Vulpera, even, so transmog is probably a big thing.

Honestly, I'm quite surprised about the Vulpera. I like am, but I'm really not sure why they are so high up.
Not pretty elf. Not good for transmog. Not a core race. Can't be Druid, Paladin or Demon Hunter.
And yet, the third most popular allied race, and most popular of the midgets. Ahead of all the non-allied races added since TBC.

When is Azshara ever satisfied with anything she has? I could easily see her wanting to ascend into a new form to get both her former beauty and the power she had as a Naga- and above all else, to rule and be loved by all Elves again, which isn't really possible as a Naga.

It's clear at this point that Xal'atath, and not Azshara, seems to be the villain; but Azshara's involvement has been heavily teased in The Song of the Depths. So I'm hoping that we'll form a desperate alliance with her for now- and if that's the case, her taking a form we'd be more willing to trust is completely in-character.

But also the glaring one; why these three and not Xal?

We clearly can't see all the images, and iirc past press kits have had images in pretty random orders, so maybe she's there too? Or they're focusing on characters just now entering the spotlight?


I mean, always be skeptical about alleged leaks, but this one seems plausible enough.

The one from legion remix is her look if you do the well of eternity dungeon. I think she would have a glow up after 10k years

There isnt a reason to assume what we are told about the Beledar is wrong though, given it's not presented as part of the lies told to the Earthen.

Most likely it's as simple as it seems. A giant chunk of Azerite that pulses between light and dark for still unexplained reasons. I still stand by my initial guess that it will be explained as what happens when you have a confluence of Leylines, and that you would find ones like it pretty much everywhere on Azeroth where that is the case, for instance under the Sunwell.

Counterpoint: anything like that on K‘aresh? It’s broken open, so if it is something from world souls… shouldn’t we see something like it there too?

You are preaching to the choir here in terms of her being good enough to carry an expansion. I’m of the opinion that she should be a major character across several expansions. Starting with her being an uneasy/reluctant ally and then eventually becoming the main villain of her own saga.

I also think she’d been a lot more fitting in the role in the WSS than Xal.

I think her showing up in Midnight as a major player offering her assistance to the Elves in repelling the Void would be a good start. As for why she’s in her Elf form? She’s not trying to trick the world leaders, they know what she’s like. She’d be attempting to appeal to the masses, to manipulate them into worshiping her again. Her Elf form would be more effective at that. Think Annatar in Tolkien’s Second Age.

Would have to check the tww press kits, but my guess is would be, they were already in the TWW press Kits and they focus on the new characters in Midnight instead

Lorthemars armour doesn't even remotely match with his character concept art.

His gloves right now have a phoenix motive, which the AI image doesn't have.

Turalyons armour also doesn't match up, the boots for example are vastly different, and the leg "light blade" things are different between the left and right leg.

Yes, this. This is what I'm hoping for.

The ideal scenario, for me, is that she becomes our untrustworthy ally for now, and ends the saga as a villain with great publicity- who only the leaders and heroes know is still a villain. Bring her back to her prime- as a beloved queen- and then give her her own expansion.
