If Metzen had said reunify the scattered Human tribes/kingdoms then I would absolutely imagine that to mean Stormwind, Alterac, Lordaeron, Stromgard and Gilneas but not leave out Kul Tiras for x reasons.

Yes? They are all humans. Plus stromgard arathi , and forsaken, and dalaran humans, the members of the Alterac syndicate, the wastelanders of uldum, I could even see the hallowfall arathi in that.

So, they are both void-related, smug, camp, theatrical, dramatic, arrogant female "elves", who both try to get as much power as possible and made deals with bigger void entities, pretending to serve them to backstab them later.

Nope, her goal is gaining power for the sake of gaining power so far, just like Azsharah. She hasnt "consumed" a single thing since she got out of the dagger. She sucked stuff into her MacGuffin to power it up.

They seem pretty fundamentally different to me down to their very personalities. I don’t think their personalities are similar at all. I certainly wouldn’t call Xal theatrical or camp.

Azshara doesn’t want power for the sake of power. She is a narcissist. She believes that power is her right because of her station. She’s charismatic and invokes devotion in her subjects. The vast majority of the Highborne population was obsessed with her and revered her like she was a God. They would have done anything for her. Funnily enough, in some twisted sense, Azshara actually cares for her subjects in some fashion.

Xal isn’t charismatic and she doesn’t inspire devotion. The old Nerubian queen saw right through her and wanted nothing to do with her. Her daughter saw through her too but wanted the power Xal promised.

Yeah, we are not talking about uniting them, we are talking about (re)unifying here. I just don't see any way how you can unify Blood Elves and Night Elves in any way whatsoever without making it incredibly stupid.

Ethereals are kind of like space elves. Also orcs have pointy ears so throw them in too.

I think this is the most important part. Any significant divergence from Human Male/Female and most mogs look like ass. Elves work reasonably well. As do Zandalari, Draenei Females and other roughly human shaped that are not crouching. Everything else and it is a clipping nightmare especially if it is shorter or more round. I remember early in the AI thread someone had asked the AI to make some WoW pandaren and the males were all human-proportioned YIFF furry bait and I just immediately thought, damn if Pandaren looked like this in game, transmogs would look great on them and so many more would play them.
