or in Warcraft terms, she probably tanked the strength Aman'thul used to rip Y'shaarj off the planet. She could probably pull the Sword out even. It was just not the best use of her magic but she just wanted to save EVERYTHING. If she just wanted to save herself and her court, she could teleport them out or create a smaller shield and hold it forever. But she was trying to save an entire city.

heroic world tiers would make wow both the best mmo and the best arpg lol

I just don't really see the incentive for World Tiers other than doing it for the sake of it, or getting more stuff like Resonance Crystals. You go any farther, and you invalidate low keys even more, and potentially Delves.

It works for something like Legion, because it's inherently just a funny gamemode, however, I just don't really see what good it would do in the actual game.

it could become a new source of delve keys

but new content outside of m+ (aka group decline simulator) raids (performance issue central) and pvp (LOL) is always good it could also provide more ways to get small amounts of runed or even gilded crests which would avoid other players feeling "forced" into doing it because they'd already be capping their crests from their prefered content or would feel "forced" to do more of their prefered content

but also this game desprately needs content that is designed to be fun to play rather than "appropriately rewarding" the hyper focus on rewards is detracting from the joy of playing and simply being able to boot up the game and play your class in a relatively low stakes but engaging way is something very important for wow imo

The way I'd see rewards going, you'd have rares dropping Veteran gear. You would have events drop a mix of Champion and Veteran gear with Heroic Events giving Champion gear in the Vault (where delves give Heroic and even the weakest M+ gives Heroic). And more importantly you'd just have more materials dropping; not just valor and whatever the main expansion resource is but possibly profession reagents.

Is scaling "Kill 15 mobs!" quests up really "designed to be fun"?

It's wild that 3 days from now we'll find out what Midnight entails. BlizzCon was almost 2 years ago! Before we know it, we'll be playing The Last Titan while eagerly anticipating details of 14.0.

    Calm before the storm, truly.

Missing in all leaks Warband Adventures. Running delves(Voidrifts) and dungeons with a selection of (max 4) other characters from your warband.

I don't expect I'll be playing WoW after The Last Titan. All the wonders of Warcraft will be gone.

I'm more than certain that this came with Metzen. During their main questline runtime it felt more in lines of receiving therapy than building a relationship.

During the max level campaign it started to change. And that is when the story had made a clear pivot towards Metzen's vision - Beledar as a solidified shard of the world-soul instead of a naaru crystal like it was confirmed to be written as prior, Khadgar's death undone, Ethereals starting to gain presence, Anduin's trauma confirmed as resolved with him going back to being a king. The board game story is all about them becoming closer and getting to really know each other (and set up Arathi as the future antagonists with Faerin as the clear renegade). Faerin's short story being blatant about him being attracted to her (it doesn't have Faerin pushing against it in any way either) and building parallels between them through Jaina.

They're never subtle or subversive with the endgame this type of writing builds towards. Thrall/Aggra, Flynn/Shaw and Lor'themar/Thalyssra make it clear.

Even Taelia's shipping stuff was more of fans extrapolating since in actuality it only involved Bolvar who was a parental figure for both her and Anduin, as the actual biological father for the former and the guardian during Varian's absence for the latter.

And it can still work if they'll consider bringing attention to her only consistent character flaw (rushing forward with potentially important actions and decisions without thinking) and have Anduin (who actually contrasts her in that regard) help her overcome it in a major way.

The person "leaking"/making these should print them out, stick to the wall and do it like DF leak to make it look more believeable.

the fun comes from having stuff to do while playing the classes you enjoy which is the "meat" of wow game play currently if you just wanna chill out and play a character thats decently geared you dont have a lot of options for stuff that actually allows you to be engaged, if you're decked out in hero track gear and gilded crafted (ie a nearly maxed delve only player) the only content where you can even kinda do your rotation is raids m+ dungeons or very high level delves which either require a dedicated group (or navigating the hellish decline simulator) or are daily limited to 4 a day for bountiful delves which is crazy because bountiful delves are already limited by weekly keys so like wtf is the point???????

herioc world tier can open up stuff like the undermine market research grind from being a mindless time sink to something where each encounter is decently challenging but significantly more rewarding a baseline 5 or 10x research drop rate for the world scaling to a tier 8-9 delve would be a nice change of pace and there are a lot of interesting abilities in wow that you dont really get a chance to make use of a lot of their interactions because of the proliferation of stuff like flying so an open world rewarding you for utilizing your movement skills really well also adds new avenues of skill expression like learning when you can use your monk air dash to cross gaps or learning what your vertical is as a dh double jumping or learning how to get the most out of outlaw grappling hooks or whatever

you might not like world content and thats fine, but for people who do it sucks that the content they like they will eventually start to trivialize

not to mention if its well received getting to play through the campgain quest of old expansions at max level on heroic world tier could be very fun and could be a good source of rotated out trading post rewards or old remix rewards when out of season, along side more common things like crest/valorstone/gear

like getting to play through a scaled up throne of thunder campaign quest to unlock some mop remix cosmetics for example

basically there's a ton of potential both in reusing old stuff and giving new stuff more longevity while allowing more of the game world to have players out doing stuff in it, similar to the fate system in ff14 and the cosmetic rewards tied to it

I actually like all these models quite a bit. Especially the Azshara one.

Doubt that they are real but I wouldn't mind at all if that ends up being the case.
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.

Bruh why is everyone thinking only of endgame rewards?

Azshara would never stain her body with some cheap early 2000s tribal tattoos.

Pretty sure it's because she shows up in that outfit in Legion.

Because adding a game mode that adds nothing other than making the game harder would be used by exactly 1% of the playerbase.

Because leveling is just playing an incomplete version of your class and it'd be much more interesting to have long form quest based content to do at max level with your full tool kit?

    Based on what?

With Metzen back and Holly/Ion in charge of the game, I am more optimistic than I have been in years.

My dream state of the game for the 14.0 - 16.0 era would be:

    - The Worldsoul no longer plays a major role. Azeroth has been blessed by her essence or whatever and is now just a nice planet to live on and protect.

    - The old world (Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms) is revamped, evergreen, and always relevant for current content. Including gathering, dungeons, delves, world quests, events, and much more. This includes all the capital cities, obviously.

    - We've begun exploring the other side of Azeroth, which is now depicted as more of a globe. We've met the Arathi, seen Avaloren, and encounted Erinethria's brood. But we've also learned that there is so much more to see. A whole new Warcraft mythos opens up on the other side, where the Titans weren't really active.

    - Playable races and classes are in a really good state. You can customise them a ton, select origin stories, customise your racials, and much more.

    - Old content like Vanilla, TBC, WotLK, MoP and so on is all preserved perfectly within the main game. You use the timewalking system somehow to explore those old expansions and continents that haven't been revamped and made evergreen (although obviously they may also end up revamping places like Pandaria, Kul Tiras, etc.).

    - The First Ones and all the Zereth lore takes backseat. But so do the Titans, the Old Gods, etc. New myths emerge from the same sources, though. For example we might find out more about a rogue Titan (Amitus?) or of a whole secret life Eonar led on Avaloren.
