It can be that. They are setting up Azshara as a future elven ruler/antagonist, so it might be that (highborne elves that can switch to naga or something), or maybe it's satyrs (kek). Blizzard embraced furries, so I wouldn't be surprised. They spend so much time and resources to set up Xal'atath she is destined to be a big villain sooner or later, though.

Isn't it a little suspicious that over the past couple of years, these are the groups/locations that have gotten the most development in terms of prepping for their future?
Elves of Quel'Thalas.
Worgen of Gilneas.
Humans/Undead of Lordaeron.
Humans and Orcs of Arathi.
Draenei of the Exodar.
Mages of Dalaran.
Scattered Humans of Alterac, Scarlet Crusade, etc.
To me this just seems to draw a large circle around northern EK.
Would not surprise me if, although the expansion is set within Quel'Thalas primarily, they also revamp northern EK as a major expansion feature.

Tauren got exactly as much development as half of these and Draenei have nothing to do with northen EK. Heck, blue dragons had way more development than any of this.
god i hope not. I'd rather a well designed expansion in the area we're actually interested in rather than assing off back to nonsense we already finalised.
I think that Azshara's role is a very interesting point during Midnight. She could let Xal'athat and us kill each other, serve Xal'athat because she might have no other choice, or help us defend Azeroth out of necessity.
Another important character might be Iridikron. Completely absent during TWW, we know that he will be a major character of this saga. Might he help Xal'athat during the siege of Silvermoon? A big dragon is always useful...And it would be cool to see him in the cinematic.
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.

Iridikron is 100% being saved for TLT. He doesn't give a shit about Silvermoon or any of that. He just wants Xal'atath to do enough void shit to cause the Titans to come to Azeroth so he can try killing them.

I would bet the earliest we see Iridikron again is midnight epilogue

Seen some comments about Stratholme in the last few days, do you guys think the Red Dawn could have went into hiding there?
The Red Dawn is one of the most obvious hints that more than QT will be revamped.
They don't fit anywhere in QT, yet they are probably all over the Northern EK. Their introduction in TWW is a sign of things to come.
I wouldn't be surprised if they end up serving Xal'athat.

Idk, I just don't think the Red Dawn are going to be relevant in this saga, just like the Arathi
