A giant desert in the middle of Avaloren with constant sandstorms would also allow the continent to be massive (8-10 modern zones) and explored across two expansions, with the desert blocking us from the other half.

I am pretty sure it is, like the vanilla mail armor revamped, either a relic of a scrapped world revamp or something that was added by mistake and who's supposed to be part of a bigger scheme (which is, again, world revamp).

It's so weird they'd start revamping vanilla stuff and this bikini armor could perfectly fit the vanilla style. Only time can tell.

It's just trading post fodder, just like most items that don't really fit with the expansion. Any time there is a "basic" weapon, people think it means a world revamp when it is just Trading Post filler
