Ok, so let's imagine that 11.0 is Avaloren (the other side of Azeroth). What would you like Avaloren to be, look like, etc.?

To edit that I think it would have to be something other than trolls because it would look too similar to Zandalar. Maybe something like D&D Hobgoblins (called something else since WoW hobgoblins are nowhere near as intelligent); imagine something like Eberron's Dhakaani; egalitarian with multiple types of goblins in different positions. And instead of a large barrier, the Water and Air Elementals would have recruited Ancients to guard Avaloren which is why it's almost impossible to get there. Perhaps part of the Nightsquall raid could be about his fleetg fighting off Leviathan who is trying to free Ondine while a giant Simurgh or Lamassu (or a family of them) would be guarding Avaloren from the sky.

Rogue Dark Irons are attempting to resurrect Ragnaros, this we know.

But now imagine that in the process of resurrection we interupt them, but, unable to prevent Ragnaros' resurrection we instead try to cleanse him of whatever dark delusion kept him loyal to the old gods. Maybe we extract shadowflame from him or something? Maybe we end up with two Ragnarosses, one of which is pure corrupted fire.

So a newly returned Ragnaros sees us, recognises us, but now notices we are not in fact insects (aqir), leaving him confused and truly neutral for the first time we see him.
He retreats, but his servants remain, also confused, we easily capture them.

We piece things together and realise that while he is still fire that will burn anything he is no longer evil, and is no longer stuck in the delusion of fighting against the old gods' armies as he has been when first they bent his fire to their will.

Ragnaros in turn cleanses the druids of the flame of the shadows clouding theit mind, and makes use of them as envoys as a sort of half-hearted apology and explanation while he figures out a position of his own for the first time since his fall to the old gods.


(mind that both of the old god loyal elemental lords have referred to us as insects, meaning that while it may be a bit of a retcon i feel it wouldn't disturb the past much to make it mean that they genuinely saw us as part of the alien aqiri invaders the old gods spawned)

U know what would be funny? If blizzard decided to make Ragnaros, the Lightlord canon from hearthstone. Cuz whats the opposite of the void? THE LIGHT so why not just jam him with a bunch of the light to fix him cuz that wont possible go wrong

While I've heard talk about Metzen still suffering from anxiety, the latest I could find of any relevant instances of it being brought up date to around 2016. With seven years of time since then and most of the extenuating factors mitigated by now, I feel fairly confident about his chances of at least being able to handle announcing something, though I obviously can't say for sure if he actually will announce something.

I can say with certainty that Metzen being on stage for the first Blizzcon in a while after some shakeups would be insane.

So basically, Shadowlands would be on Azeroth, but we would "phase" into it. Just as when we wait for spirit mender to res us in open world/battleground.
There we could either fight an avatar of N'zoth, or some Drust big-bad-guy. Which would be an AWESOME introduction to 9.0 = Rise of the Black empire.

Imo, that would be 10000000x cooler than the retarded shitlands we had.


Ah and btw, I would also change 10.0. Instead of Dracthyr and Evokers (superb cringe race/class combo) we would get something like:

It would be an amazing mix of mail users who can also wear glaives + shields.

and even if you wanted something similar to augmentation- that could be present as well.

Wow. You are certainly passionate if nothing else. Also, I fully agree with Aeluron, it is silly to condemn an entire expansion. EVERY expansion has good and bad.

The latter for me. I'm really enjoying DF so the more patches we get, the better. Not in a rush for a new xpac yet.

I think they do and I think, sadly, it may be a case of accessibility. Durumu in LFR was...hell for lack of a better word, I can't imagine it in Timewalking.

There is also a possibility they are just fixing the damage they did converting it to Mythic and adding the removed Heirlooms as they have been on a spree recently of implementing previously removed content.
