I mean, red Orc DH's are something the community wanted since Legion, alongside Draenei. No clue why you guys are suddenly so surprised? Illidan had both in his army, it actually makes sense lol.
Didn't want to play the devil's advocate's role in this but maybe that could be tied to some faction-swap mechanics behind this "ancestral power". This week you can be a Blood Elf loyal to the Horde but then next week you go to a barbershop and become a High Elf, esteemed hero of the Alliance.
I don't see this happening at least now so idk

I'm pretty optimistic about our chances for new race/class combo unlocks. Just feels like now is the right time for that, can't really put my finger on why
I think it's far more likely we only get Nightborne and Void Elf DHs. My guess is Midnight will focus on DH (new void spec) and Paladin (light) races. Undead and Night Elf certainly added for Paladin, maybe a few others like Void Elf and Worgen. Updated paladin mounts where needed and some cosmetic options like Sunlight (Sunwalker) or Moonlight (Elunite) spell effects.
Races I think High Elf and Amani Troll are obvious picks. Ethereals were so cool in 11.2, it would suck to not get them. Remember in DF when they had the world first Mythic kill unlock the Legendary drops for everyone? Would be cool if they did that for a playable race. World first mythic Dimensius kill = Ethereal unlocked for everyone.
I'm not expecting a Spellbreaker, but it would be a welcome surprise. I think the new DH spec, new race + class combos and expansion of the hero talents will be as far as they go for Midnight.
Is this the expansion we finally find out that Jaina is a Dreadlord? The bigger thing the Jailer warned us about was her all along

I know it's a long reach back, but in BC era books like Rise of the Horde the draenei used blue Light spells. It was only ever represented in game with Gift of the Naaru and with the old draenei priest racial Symbol of Hope. And since then Blizzard's gone all in on yellow Light draenei.
But it'd still be cool to get it as an option as well.
I think the thought behind that is for it to stop degenerate "swap racials before each boss" gameplay. Now, that thought probably comes from a faker trying to think like Blizzard, but anyway.
I don't want that leak to be real because it doesn't have Paladins for everyone. I want my gnome paladin.

Ancestral powers could work without too much issues if they just make it baseline stuff like +2% crit / haste / etc.. every class has a preferred stat anyway so there would be no need to constantly change it but still leave the option for it if a class rebalance demands different stat prio.
The dead NE and BE thing sounds weird though.
Yeah, and they also were blue/purple coded but that now also has gone out of the window with them labeling purple draenei stuff as "void" sets lol.
Or we make a full circle, and we are back to "every cosmic force uses every colour", which tbf, was re-introduced in Shadowlands anyways. Gives artist more freedom in designing stuff which is also a good thing at the end.
The whole "this specific tone of green is fel" goes out of the window the moment you say "but if it's enough fel, it's now orange and not looking any different to Ragnaros' magic" and I would rather have them just having fun with it and making it good looking and fitting instead of hyper focusing and giving us an expansion that looks the same all the time.

It would defo be like that (atleast at the start). Blizz says "once something is in the player's hands we can't take it away anymore so we would rather introduce a more restricted version first and see how it goes". They can always do the ripcord later, with stuff like 1-3 weekly charges that you can use on the fly instead of having to go to a racial trainer for example.
