That was retconned. The fel energy was passive from crystals and it wasn't socially acceptable to drain fel energy intentionally. Plus it's pretty much all flushed out by the Sunwell now.

Blood Elf and High Elf are political names really at this point. Not that there's any real politics in wow lmao.

even if it wasn't voluntary, they got the green eyes from the fel. Like the high elves kept their blue eyes from consuming the little access they had to arcane magic sources. It is no different to green Orcs and brown Mag'har, or Draenie and Lightforged/Man'ari. One race is the cosmic magic corrupted version, one isn't.

The Sunwell is technically flushing the blood elves with light magic in addition to arcane. I could see a twist where they slowly get lightforged through the sunwell, and then voidcorrupted once Xal corruptes the well

I'd hate to see dynamic ground mounts become standard or heavens forbid, a way for them to try removing flying again, but I want the spell customization soo bad. Give me my old lightning bolt back.

As one leak said, dynamic ground mounts for the void/light phase is interesting. Normal zone allows flying but the others dont. A good compromise and probably fine if the dynamic ground mounts are fun.

I've been wondering, since in Midnight we are supposed to see "elven tribes reunification" - why would that be the case? What can happen to make blood elves and night elves go "yeah, lets be bff's now"? Clearly they care about different things. Night elves and Nightborne worship Elune. Blood elves worship Light. One thing that is common to all elves is the Well of eternity, and the Sunwell is made out of its waters. Another thing that is common for all elves, is that they all used to be ruled by Queen Azshara.

They said this, but by unification I'm sure they just meant their armies. All the elves will be fighting together. The distinctions between the elves will still matter. Plus it might just be Highborne, so I even doubt the Night Elves show up.

But they're supposedly more mixed than one-half. They could be like octoroon elves.

I intensely hate the level squish and hope they never do that again though
