Looks like a free patch, not an expansion.

A new Emerald Dream zone was unexpected.

"We must stand together" blah blah blah. Multi billion dollar company can't hire good writers apparently, only regurgitate slop.

No artifact weapons, Covenants, or Hero Talent specs to improve your character. Only Demon Hunter players get new stuff.

Third neutral race in a row. No more pairs from now on.

The remake of Quel'thelas looks to be a let down. I was thinking we would get Eversong Woods redesigned like the Emereald Dream with huge forests to fly through, and a grandiose city of skyscraper talls to fly through.

Standing together is typical Warcraft stuff. Not sure what you're so shocked there.

Also, Silvermoon looks pretty damn good, with Sunfury Spire looking massive.

I'm more confused why they even did K'aresh at all if Ethereals aren't in TWW. Voidstorm fits the bill, to the point you'd think it could be the original idea for K'aresh.

Yeah, have something else for the TWW finale, and save the void zone for Karesh. Would have upped my hype somewhat.

OK so . .. if QT is a single zone there is no reason for this NOT to be connected to EK. That requires removing the invisible walls over Stratholme and doing something with northern lordaeron so it doesn't look as bad.

Also, less than half the expansion is Blood Elf focused. And we already have a launch zone in the Void. So what is the patch zones? My votes for Zereth Lumen remain high but I think EPL/Eastweald is not unlikely.

Yeah, this definitely opens up the possibility of it being connected to the Eastern Kingdoms!

I thought that was a given personally. The Midnight zones being hidden behind a loading screen and Blizzard going "uuuhhh well a Void Barrier did it!" to justify the nonsense would disappoint me far more than anything revealed today.

Transmogging is going to be free and there's gonna be context-sensitive transmogs, so presumably you will be able to have a mog for the city and one for slaying voidspawn and maybe even another for picking flowers.

That's sufficient transmog improvement for me that even if everything else is mid (which imo it doesn't look to be), it'll be a great expansion.

There is no reason not to. It was reasonably to assume otherwise when we thought it was a full continent and thus significantly scaled up. But it is NOT scaled up, at least not significantly. There is no reason NOT to connect.

Probably not, she is living carboard. The issue is, there is a perception of elves as ageless being of otherwordly grace. A not particularly attractive human woman with bigger ears and eyebrows does not really fit the elven fantasy. Especially not when Xal'atath was there as contrast.

Again, it's Liadrin, a leading competitor for the most boring woman alive, who's never been sold for sex appeal. If Xal were butch it'd be one thing. The TBC stock priest is better, both because she looks better but also because she represents an immeasurably better version of the Blood Elves as a race and fantasy, but for what she's aimed for in the cinematic and what she's been since TBC rolled around, Liadrin is entirely in keeping.

They made BRANN a healer, I'm sure they can work something out. Rogues already use an ability that is a healing potion so Valeera continuing Brann's tradition of just dumping some potions at your feet should be pretty straightforward.

Maisara Caverns looked to have similar vegetation so I assume they are connected.

It's different vegetation, though. I double-checked just in case. I hope those roots in Azj-Kahet are connected to it.

The consensus in this thread was against it. I kept asking about how they thought it would be resolved but ultimately we all thought they would have MORE focus on Quel'thalas and here it is one zone and the capital instead. It is like Earthen in TWW; they are the race we will be hanging around most, but there is a Hallowfall and Azj'kahet with just as much presence in the story with the Amani and Haranir.

In hindsight, we should have expected Haranir since they were being set-up -- in my opinion -- as an allied race in the early days of TWW. Framework was already there.

I expected them but they should have come in the epilogue of TWW. Void dh should have come in 11.2. Then have new races for Midnight even if there is no new class.

It's scaled up as in the sense that Zul'Aman is now its own zone, and those other 3 are indeed merged and slightly altered to fit dynamic flgiht (presumably a bit bigger and more vertical here and there). But your point still stands, though! Even though I argued against it, it is always better to have a connection for a seamless continent.
