It seems to be Stormwind forces. Probably ones led by Turalyon given he is stated to spend time in Silvermoon visiting Arathor anyways.

It would have been an absolutely stellar bit of story if it was Arathi from Avaloren though. Inviting the ones that will inevitably be the greatest enemy the Alliance and Horde could face. And Liadrin and other paladins allying themselves with them and being antagonistic when the Arathi turn would have been a great twist.

I have to wonder what Liadrin was hoping to achieve in intercession. My initial thought was that Bob just did not expect a miracle and wanted Liadrin to stop wasting time in prayer. But what if in whatever pre-expansion events happen before that cinematic Liadrin has a reason to believe the Sunwell can provide a miracle by summoning Light forces from across the cosmos and Bob is just very wary of having complete foreigners in the Sunwell.

But I really want Velen there and I'm sad he doesn't seem to be anywhere around.

I mean, if I was, why would this be an issue? We already have Light and Life infused guys in Midnight, we have the Harranir, etc.

Lightbound + Botani and Fara for 12.1 would be cool imo.

So its not the AotL or Lightbound.

Honestly, given how Lor'themar does not react surpised by them at all, nor does Liadrin for that matter, i think it's probably just Silver Hand Paladins.

There is a Lightforged Mech in the video showing the raid. Probably the Army of the Light which is Draenei. But they would be represented by Turalyon so he is the one we see in the screenshots.

Honestly, seeing how generic the design is, they might even be just us and Blizzard simply didn't bother to diversify the crowd.

I don't think they'd act surprised at any group of Light-aligned Paladins coming to their aid against the Void right before they get overwhelmed.

Again though, if you go through the video shorts you see a Kul Tiran human body (which the Arathi use together with every other style) using Hallowfal mogs (the one in the front had the flail and there is no confusing that).

Though this just looks like the Guardian of Ancient Kings spell without the wings. And I have to wonder if they just give context to the spell and it is not just some cool SFX but an actual ability of the Light to call Heroes, maybe making a call to Bridenbrad. So an alternate afterlife in the Light? Maybe something they achieved after attacking Revendreth.

This has to be the Arathi.
For a group that is hyper fixated on religion and the light an what not. They technically have a formal blood-pact with the “high elves” of Quel’Thalas.
This is the best way to introduce them formally.
Liadrin summons them from the sunwell.
They come from the sunwell via some holy light magic way they are there to help them.

They find out that these elves arnt the same ones as the high elves that live in avalorean.

This leads to tension a what not helping us defend the sunwell from the void. We already know that they are pretty much Zealots an racists. They don’t like helping the other races.
We hit a “boiling point” during that nexus dungeon a bam we have the real baddies of the light.

Why would we go use the Sunwell when we can just SONIC BOOM through the entire continent in under 2 minutes.

It just tells us that they will be present, which we knew from the get go.

Yup, they look to be the old untextured pangolin model from the TWW beta

One of the dataminers dug it up back then but I have long since lost it. If you scroll through the utter mess of TWW beta stuff it appeared roughly around mid-beta from memory

Looking at Tali's video about the reveal with shots from the trailer...Lor'Themar, compared to Liadrin, is really helped by the beard. It makes his face longer and more angular.

What if they are just human paladins, from Stormwind? That would explain why Alliance is suddenly allowed into Silvermoon, and why Alliance is helping them in the expansion.
