SL and WoD are usually at the bottom of everyone's list. I can understand why but honestly I think Cataclysm is by far the worst expansion. It somehow gets a pass due to nostalgia.

+ World revamp was was ultimately pointless / waste of resources
    + Worst villain representation
    + Terrible story
+ Firelands is probably the most overrated raid in the games history. It was good but not enough to cleanse the foul of Dragon Soul
+ CC meta in heroics wasn't fun
+ Masteries ruined the talent trees and were poorly implemented
+ Way too much pop culture references
+ Just visually almost everything was ugly (save Gilneas)

Cata is very, very, VERY bad besides a couple new zones and Worgen and Goblin, which I think really make it more liked nostalgically.

I always hated the artistic decisions in Cataclysm as well (aside from Gilneas). The gear, metals, etc. all had this... ugly sheen and purpleish tone to them. They just stand out to be really, really gross to me. MoP was a slight improvement, but there were some pieces that lingered. WoD course corrected IMO.

While the Vanilla zones really needed an update back then, the worst thing Cata did was giving al zones a combined overarching story. Because of that all zones stay frozen in that time. If they ever going to revamp it again, they really need to make sure the zones stay evergreen.

Shadowlands still was worse and it didn't help that BFA came before.
WoD just lacked content, which was cut. At least leveling was fun.

They really just needed streamlining. Not overhauls. Which is something they were improving on independent of Cata since vanilla. Hinterlands, Searing Gorge and Dustwallow all had leveling revamps. This is really all they needed to to across the board to make leveling more fluid for new players. Add some hubs, new FPs.

Don't get me wrong. Silverpine and WPL revamps were fantastic. But most zones didn't live up to that quality. Overall the whole revamp was so inconsistent and poorly handled.

Hmm difficult one tbh. Probably Legion → DF/TWW → WotLK

I was a lot more invested in DF and enjoyed most of the content, except for Zaralek probably.
TWW though I only really enjoyed S2, Undermine was an incredible zone whilst S1 and K'aresh not so much.

Still a great expansion overall though.

We haven't got a 11.2.5 reveal yet, have we? Seems a bit late, but it's only been 3 weeks, so..

Maybe this week? As last week was Midnight news.

I'm gonna assume this is ironic due to the slowpoke avatar.

I just want an expansion with a story that makes sense from patch to patch and doesn't feel like 3 unrelated micro expansions like BFA and now TWW.
They announced the trilogy as a continued story after the DF story complaints and then they shipped the first "chapter" which was much worse than DF in that regard.

The true saga is probably only Midnight and TLT, and they just pivoted whatever TWW was suposed to mean as a rushed prologue.

What are the odds that blizzard is panicking with the midnight reveal feedback and are trying to give us surprise ethereals for 11.2.7

Its in the upper quadrant but I don't think I'd put it above Dragonflight. Dragonflight tells a neat little story, while TWW is a bit all over the shop, even if I liked its individual pieces

    Wrath
    MoP
    Legion
    Dragonflight
    TWW
    TBC
    Cata
    WoD
    BFA
    SL

There is presently 0% evidence for ethereals coming along, whereas we knew about haranir coming for the better part of a year.

Its not impossible, but you'd have better luck finding UFOs or Bigfoot.

If there are Ethereals are coming it has been telegraphed as early as 11.2 datamining with the glamour and even 11.1 with the new models with women. Not because of any concern for Midnight.

I feel like if playable ethereals were coming they wouldn't have been a "No plans" vs a "Nothing to announce." Also they won't be able to wear armor so people would be very upset.

To be fair, there was both.
Nothing to announce at the moment, but they're always interested to hear what races players find interesting to interact with. Allied races opens the door for different fantasies, and they'd love to hear what players think after experiencing the story of Ghosts of K'aresh.
From this interview with MarcelianOnline. There's just a bit of mixed messaging, along with things that seem like hints, which is why it's weird. If they were to ever come, they wouldn't be without armor, I don't think they'll do that Dracthyr blunder again.

That quote is so funny, because there is so little to do with Ethereals in 11.2 that aren't mindless murderspawn or crazies that it leads me to believe that if they are playable it will be a whole new bunch from wherever pulling up in a spaceship. The Shadowguard move to Voidstorm and the Wastelanders, save for a few, are so crazy stupid that there is a World Quest to kill them.

There is so little to do with Ethereals in THE ETHEREAL PLANET that I think it's intentional, and if it's not TWW there will be a new faction rolling up that has more going on, likely the Consortium which is foreshadowed by the group in Tazavesh. I can only assume Blizz wants the Ethereal theme to be Space more than K'aresh specifically, maybe because of worries with an arabian theme. But then again the new guy has an Agrabah looking hat.

    This may help you:

That would be a feat. If they weren't already planning it they'd have to do a lot of animation work in addition to armor placement. And Paladin, Shaman or Druid options would be out of the question. Though maybe not impossible.

    Not a chance. 0.0%.

They'd have to add in way too much to make playable ethereals work for it to be rushed for Patch 11.2.7. Plus it's not like the lack of ethereals is exactly a sky is falling situation for them. I've heard lots of people excited to try out the Haranir.

If they are adjusting anything right now from the Midnight reveal feedback, it's either what to do with Silvermoon & the Alliance or how to better deliver their messages about expansions & patches in the future, given how disastrous the Midnight reveal went at Gamescom.
