and at least for void elves, that unique factor was unwanted. Which brings us full circle back to the high elf topic.

you do realize that we human tend to like pretty things? Look at any game, and you will see that most people tend to play the pretty options. And it is even a meme that you can categorize players in games into 4 categories of what they want their characters to look like: the hot one, the badass one, the crazy/funny one and the one that doesn't care. Most people tend for the first two, with a bigger share on the hot one.
So yeah, people wanting hot elves is very much expected

Part of me wants High Elves in the Alliance just so we can stop hearing people whine about not having them and we can move the hell on. This endless discourse over it is so tiring. I'd rather have the damn tinker discussions back.

I seriously doubt High Elf fans will ever be happy. There will always be some minor detail that means it ist "proper" High Elves.
First it was the Blood Elf model, and we got that.
Then it was Blood Elf skin and hair variants, and we got that.
Then it was Blue glowing eyes, and we got that.
Once we get High Elf under the name, it will be racials.
Once we get racials, it will be those damn tattoos.
Once we get that, it will be not having full access to Silvermoon.
etc.

i would be content with neutral Belf/Velves. Wouldn't mind other races go neutral too.
You can have a vanilla high elf in the horde or you can have new special high elves in the alliance. The idea that Alliance High Elves are a statistically insignificant demographic is an important detail to the setting. None of those high elves are turning down the void because so many of their brethren have shown they can master it.
Half elves, Darkfallen & Man'ari deserved to be fully fledged races more than non-void alliance high elves & we see how that was handled.

Just rework the visual effect of the proc. There, you have a perfect Alliance High Elf
...really? you think there are that much more void elves? The remaining High Elves as told are 10% of the thalassian population. So, you want me to think that more than 1 out of 9 blood elves turned to the void? yeah... try to sell that bridge to a different troll

i think you missed the part about not turning void
I think Blizzard should just exterminate the remaining High Elves in game.
can you guys take this to the quarantine thread that was was made for you people? every time blue eyed blood elves is even vaguely brought up the thread is up 30 pages of nothing meaningful being said.
Artists are always compelled to be creative when making art.
Picasso could paint a realistic portrait if he wanted to, but as many creatives, finds no artistic merit in it. Similarly, we ask Blizzard for High Elves on the Alliance and they start cooking up a High Elf-esque splitter faction that meddled with the void and therefore have their own Void-themed aesthetic spin on the High Elves. Because they just can't help themselves. Just giving us High Elves was too simply a request. It'd be like asking a world famous chef to make you a grilled cheese. The cogs start spinning in their heads and they try to figure out a creative and unexpected way to fulfill the request. And we'll inevitably be disappointed.
Yeah, it's what I have been saying for ages now. Just add an NPC in Telogrus Rift F'horum Wyner <High Elf Historian> that gives you a toggle that changes your race to High Elf, and turns off the Void theming on the racial, and you have everything you could possibly want in a High Elf.
