I mean, I don't know. The implication would be that all Naaru are "calcified chunks of the Worldsoul's essence", which I doubt, especially because the Siren Isle crystal doesn't exhibit any of the void-y powers of the Beledar, nor any Naaru characteristics.

Naaru have like 50 origins at this point.

Or it's something Naaru-related contained within a calcified chunk of worldsoul essence. Like a pearl.

I mean, I guess it could be, but quite frankly, I don't think the Beledar is going to be relevant in the future. It does very much seem like a remnant of proto-War Within rather than something that was made with the Saga in mind.

Gotta say, if all of that stuff that seems pretty cool at face value, especially the mural, ends up being completely scrapped rather than retooled for the plan, I can't believe I lived to want to see an alleged Danuser plan.

Just remember that it's still perfectly possible they would have bungled the execution. Also, plans change all the time and this might not have been anywhere near as well thought out as people here are assuming.

Oh, absolutely. Just an interesting "what could have been" situation. I like Beledar more as a Naaru ship even though I was saying from day 1 that it has to be Worldsoul related because of everything else that contradicted it. That mural is awesome, though. So ominous and well crafted with so much conspiratorial potential. And it may just mean nothing in the end. Ah well.

Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t impressed with Midnight’s announcement; trailer and features included. I was expecting more but after a bit of reflection I’m fine with what we’re getting and I’m fine with what was presented to us even if it was fragmented and done poorly. We have a pretty complete picture of what’s coming in Midnight now.

Alpha will start in the next month or so I imagine. People need to chill. It’s like expecting constant updates on other games in development, or TV shows/films, music albums etc. Always reminds me of when people get upset they don’t get alpha access, majority of the time just because they want to treat alpha like early access then complain they don’t have much to do at launch or that they’re bored of it and want the newest content update.

Just chill, we’re going to be getting a lot of news at some point soon.
In and of itself the lack of information about new expansion isn't that big of a deal. The problem is in what it signifies.
Expansion announcement is a pretty big event (only happening every other year) and Blizzard over past years has shown that it cares about such events and invests quiet heavily in them. But now we have an absolute flop of a PR campaign and in the back of everyone mind is that nagging question: do they not care anymore at all?

Basically it is as if your spouse gives you $10 printout coupon as a birthday gift. The insult is not that it's cheap but in how little time and personal touch was invested in it. (Note, that this example is purely illustrative. I am not trying to imply that someone thinks Blizzard is their spouse.)

I believe when you are building a fictional world, conservation of detail is one of the most important principles. Beledar looks like every other Naaru ship's core, just not with all the tech parts around it. So it should be that. It can also be a calcified part of a world soul at the same time and that teaches us something about how those ships are made from. But making it look so similar then having it be something completely different is pointless.

While I understand that for all intents and purposes, Beledar was supposed to be a Naaru something at some point in proto TWW, I do think that saying it looks like "every other Naaru ships core" is a bit of a stretch, in so far that both are crystals and that's about it. All the pre-Legion ships look drastically different.

Plus, the Naaru ships don't really have much to do with Naaru anyway, seeing how the Vindicaar was seemingly built by the Draenei without any Naaru help (or I guess O'ros helped until he died).

We don't know how the Naaru ships are made but we do know they are older than the Draenei given that the Genedar arrived to save them from the Man'ari on Argus and Tempest Keep also existed back then. As for how the Vindicaar was built, I assume they cannibalized the Exodar for that.

My theory used to be that Tempest Keep and other Naaru vessels were made by the Apexis but the timeline doesn't work for that.

I guess the logical question becomes "what were prior Naaru ships made OUT of?" But them being made of calcified World Soul stuff is a stretch. As is the possibility that the Naaru themselves are sentient wayward world soul fragments a la K'aresh.

Lotta weird stuff they likely never even considered.

Eh. I just want a Devourer class blog.

But the Vindicaar is drastically different to Tempest Keep/Exodar. Like it's completely different crystals.

At the end of the day, while we have design documents saying the Beledar was a Naaru, there are also a lot of design documents hinting that it was something else.

Not like we have much evidence it ever went further than that. And people looking at a Light/Void related crystalline structure and not even considering Naaru as a possibility would be way stranger.

Really curious to test how the spec plays. If it's exciting enough, I might drop Warlock. Although, if the Warlock section of the Class Blogs is interesting enough...

The intent seems to be Devastation plus old Demonology/Shadow

Also very much looking forward to Devourer class blog / more information.

After maining Evoker for two expansions, I wanna swap mains to this spec.

Also, it might be a niche thing but I want to see the midnight login / splash screen. I really did not like the one we have now.

If there is one lay-up easy level of feedback for them to listen to, it's doing an actual login screen.

Silvermoon with spooky Voidstorm overhead is like right there guys.

Those tend to come later from Alpha BUT their pipeline is different these days.
