At this point, I kinda just accepted that a Tinker Class isn't gonna happen as much as I want it to happen...

But a Tinker Spec.. that's something that can work as a 4th Hunter spec. Most of an Engineer's kit revolves around making guns, ammo, explosives.. stuff that is peppered into a hunter's kit along with the addition of taming mechanical pets.

If a "tinker" type class ever comes into being, I imagine they will call it something more fancy like Artificer or Machinist or Doug. It would be nice to see a new gun toting class though.

This is some hopium I’ll happily sup upon.

I think it’s entirely possible for todays devs to produce a new class/spec when it’s fitting.

    Samurai spec for Warriors

    Ninja spec for Rogues

That is assuming they give you the choice between a Samurai and a Ninja, of course.

Well, look on the bright side, if there's no 10.2 announcement tomorrow, expect a 10.1.7 cinematic at least (Either Wednesday or Thursday). Usually comes 2 weeks before release.
Yeah, I mean, not sure how many times I have to spell it out without physically saying the obvious.

I predict there is a landmass(es)/archipelago chain south of Pandaria home to civilizations and races with theme elements from Japanese, Ryukyuan, Ainu, Polyensian and other Aboriginal habitants of those areas.

Which could serve as a new expansion area.

Lol sup with samurai thing going on? xD
Don't you guys have monks already?

Sometimes it feels like Im the only 1 who DOESN'T want extra classes/specs.
    Rather fix/improve existing ones.

And I still think that evokers were bad idea. Dragon riders/spell breakers would fit 10000000% better. (mail armor type + they could wield shields + warglaives too)
would be mix between warriors and mages.
Could add support-like spec as well.

+ let rogues/warriors/dks/monks equip warglaives too.

Its just ridiculous that only DHs can wear them.

Let's be serious for a moment. We all know that Augmentation was already being dealt with before we even stepped foot onto the dragon isles... Let's not pretend that this was just an idea they had in 10.0.7 and decided to flesh it out and implement it.

Yup, this. They barely managed to release DF on time, and it seems that Aug was left on cutting room floor.

That will feel very theme park.

Using that logic, Blizz would have been devising a new class for 11.0 during Dragonflight. You know, typically the time they develop a new expansion. Your point is a bit moot.

feels a bit like a For Honor scenario. But you're right that it would be nice for the eye to have some strong themed architectures

Not really. Most expansions have had a coherent theme going through the continent/landmass.

Having a couple of zones as Arabic, a couple Japanese and a couple medieval England is just such a wild clash of cultures compared to anything we’ve had previously that it’s just obscenely jarring.

Pandaria, Draenor, Broken Isles, Kul Tiras, Zandalar and Dragon Isles (apart from Azure Span you could argue) all at least were coherent with their theme of culture as well as geography for the most part. The only outlier really is Shadowlands but they aren’t a connected landmass or civilisation. They’re different pocket realms of varying afterlives so that was to be expected.

FWIW, the WoW CM who was mentioned recently is only waiting for her flight to Gamescom now so she’ll probably be there in the afternoon.

She says she’s booked tomorrow and Friday too so…

I don’t need to RP as a “Blizzard rep”. I’ve been very clear of what my profession is. I’m simply putting timelines together like everyone else to “speculate”. The 10.1.7 cinematic “should” drop this week unless they drastically change their pipeline.

Honestly i only care about 10.2 news overall, since 10.5 social guild i am a part of, became pretty much dead and it had usually 20-30 people online and many talking, 10.1.7 doesn't look like anything special either - also it comes too close to Starfield, so hard to give a shit about this small patch for me, personally.

Gotta step up speculation game. Your 10.2 timeline together putting for this week didn't land very well.

If you count the new forms the hypothetical new races need, then sure. But druid being so extremely asset heavy class makes new races, not to mention all races, very unlikely for them to get.

What I think is pretty much guaranteed

    • The Emerald Dream, but probably with a small twist to spice things up
    • Amirdrassil and a new home for the Night Elves
    • Fyrakk and Vyranoth heavily featured, probably also Ysera and Alexstrasza
    • Either Shaman or Druid class expanded to more (if not all) races
    • Lots of transmog and cosmetics based on Life, Nature, the Green Dragonflight, Elune, etc.

What I'd also love to see

    • Updates to the Druid travel networks
    • New character customisations
    • Significant story clues about 11.0
    • New allied race based on Life and Nature
    • New Druid forms

I would love it if the Emerald Dream had some extreme Day/Night cycles to play off the theme of the Sun and the Moon. So when it's daytime, it gets really bright, green and lovely. At night, the stars come out, the music is similar to The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (soothing harps, chimes, etc), moonlight, and so on. Could be a test bed for a future Day/Night cycle planned for the 11.0 revamp.
I think a lot of this is a pipe dream but the one that stands out the most is the allied race based on Life. Something like this is far down the totem pole of likely future allied races, namely Tuskarr and Drakonids for this expansion (if we were to get any).

I think it would be a wasted opportunity, if the Emerald Dream zone didn't have portals to all the OG groves with dream gates. And if it does, perhaps we could get world events around these groves in the old world, defending them from the attacks of the primalists.
