Midnight 12.X Patches & World Soul Saga Speculation Thread

What I find funny is we've been debating the announcement of 10.2 based on previous dates as if that is the only way. However, as I, and others have mentioned above, it's "possible" that the story in 10.1.7 is much more crucial toward the story of 10.2, unlike the story prior to patch 10.1 with 10.0.7. Hence, why they could announce 10.1 before 10.0.7 released, though they are "potentially" waiting for 10.1.7 this time around to announce 10.2.

Let's not forget, too, that both patch 10.1.5 AND 10.1.7 were announced AFTER the release of the "former" patch. For example, 10.1.5 was announced AFTER 10.1 released and 10.1.7 was announced AFTER 10.1.5 released. So, again, who knows what their plan is because there is absolutely NO pattern anymore.

I can't imagine any plotline for 10.2 that is so heavily tied to 10.1.7 that you cannot explain one without the other. Unless the raid is something like Fury of Alexstrasza, any raid or whatever could just be left up in the air with a generic "See what happens". Siege of Valdrakken could be us attacking the Aspects, could be Valdrakken being occupied. Could be the Titans returning.

10.0.7 story was literally the first part of the 10.1 campaign, so I can't see how it would spoil. 10.1 reveal wasn't much apart from what the theme was and where the new zone was and what features. We know the theme/story almost 100% already for 10.2, so I don't think that is it. Either there is a wrench in their content cadence that has popped up, or they are waiting until next week/sept 5 to not get their announcement drowned in gamescom hype



Apart from the 'paladin for all races' bit, not really. It's probably just props that are added as part of the new quests.

Yeah, I don’t disagree with anything you just said. That’s kind of the point. No matter what I say, you say, or anyone else says/predicts, it doesn’t matter. It’s a waste of time. This is why it’s better to focus on lore speculation than date speculation. Who cares when the announcement comes? It’ll be here SoonTM.

I’m no more “right” or “wrong” than anyone else’s ideas. I did an entire post explaining the dates/times. It means nothing. Whether they slowed down, got caught up, are waiting, story spoilers, etc, it doesn’t matter. Just enjoy the ride!

Yeah true, but its just that there is no reason for 10.2 to be needed to reveal after 10.1.7 launch because of spoilers. If that would be the case, I would prefer if they announced it 2 weeks after, because I wouldn't be looking forward to spoilers on launch day on a patch. Want to play through it myself instead of being spoiled by a blog post on launch day.

I'm guessing Fyrakk's ingot thing is the big spoiler, if he's the final boss then they are going to give him a big powerup like Deathwing armor. Note that they haven't shown what his visage looks like with shadowflame on.

Also maybe Elune says "lol im gonna show up in the next patch" during the Nelf quest. That would be a big one.

I never once thought that 10.2 would be announced after 10.1.7 due to “spoilers”. I brought that up as a counter argument simply because based on all the dates I did, we still don’t have 10.2 announcement. So, we just wait and see!

Just because Blizzard did something in the past does not mean they have to follow the same method now/in the future. 10.0.7 being chapter 1 of 10.1 doesn’t mean 10.1.7 is chapter 1 of 10.2. We can “guess” it will, but we don’t know crap.

As I've said, it pretty much teases paladin for all races (which was predictable with Tyr tbh). But it could simply be the Tyr's Guard bolstering its ranks since Travard said he would call for back up.

The things that go against Tyr/Silver Hand meaning paladins for everyone are:

1) Blizzard's reaction and rewrite for Orc priestz, going away from that kind of thing. Also the Warlock quest kind of does this to address the "odd" pick of LFD warlock.

2) The hint that Tyr will be antagonistic in the future.

I think it's likely a story thing only but the setup for lazy paladins is there, if they want to take it.

Its just one of the TCG loot cards like they've been putting up over the past year.

But in all seriousness they just picked one of the eight TCG tabards and there were indications that the Tabard of Frost may be coming as well at some point.

I wouldn't look much into it.

Honestly I hope they follow through on Tyr, and maybe to an extent Turalyon/the Church being antagonistic for a time period, if only to encourage additional ways for races to utilize Paladins. Elune light, Rukhmar stuff from Draenor, more races being connected to the Naaru (Forsaken?), things like that.

Pretty cool logo with nice colors, love the word choice and how it breaks mold, enough to give you pass.

But... the BG shape makes no sense, it's just gibberish put into a roughly harmonious shape, but there's a lot of detail that's just not there or makes no sense, the lack of evenness on the circle. It's probably AI generated.

It's weird that we haven't seen a build of it yet. I assume we'll get a reveal of why that is soon (patch size being surprisingly big and/or it being the last patch).
