If something gets added to D4 and is a bit overpowered or if a new boss is too easy / too hard, well it's not really an issue, is it? You can just go on harder difficulty layers and have your fun this way. Current wow doesn't work like that besides M+ but even than, normal people only care for the rewards tiers (so keystone legend, weekly keys and title), nothing else matters, while in D4 the game itself is the reward, so to speak. Like, I can play D4 without caring about other players difficulty because there are 0 rewards tied to difficulty itself. It's just, more xp, more loot, and doing harder things just because you can instead of being forced into FOMO - instead most of D4 cosmetics are tied to the store instead of "prestige".
Yeah, adding an untested class works for a casual, arcady game like Diablo 4, but WoW requires a lot more balance. Remember how much of a mess balance was back when Augmentation was just released and too powerful? Compared to some of the imbalances that are just accepted in Diablo, that's tame. The previous class they added, Spiritborn, was absurdly overpowered on release, and the devs decided to just ignore it for a full season. If a WoW class ever reached that state, it'd be the only thing accepted in most groups- with most players forced to either reroll or have no chance of getting into higher content. And that would just feel awful for almost everyone.

I had very low expectations but actually ended up very impressed with what Blizzard is doing for Diablo's new expansion- especially because of the shadowdrop, but adding two classes in one expansion, revamping classes and endgame, and the Horadric Cube all sound like great features- but a shadowdropped class would not work nearly as well in WoW, as cool as it'd sound on the surface.

The question is, what is the better system?
Neither, each approach works better for the type of game it's used in, and it's a very good thing that they're appealing to different niches instead of making the same kind of game twice.

So the North EK loading screen is specifically Midnight and loads in when you port to QT or ZA. Stratholme/Lordaeron chads are eating.

Aug was a bright surprise, though we were all expecting 3 specs with DF. Aug was just delayed.

What would be nice (and a lot easier) is if they shadowdropped new race choices for Demon Hunter. None of this "Horde will get something - different - later, but don't hold us to that. And we're not going to tell you so you can plan out your characters for the expansion now." - The worst possible version of shadowdropping.

Wha .... what has tinker to do with Midnight?

If anything, they would do that for TLT lol.

Our only Midnight hope was Spellbreakers. Tinkers will come in the form as Articifers with Titan tech in TLT is my guess.

I see your Tinker and raise the stakes to Lordaeron revamp shadowdrop !!

That loading screen has to go somewhere.

I think it'll just replace the current EK screen with all the faction leaders, because the shape of EK no longer fits with that one.

I would agree if it wasn't just north EK, Stormwind isn't even a thought on it. There's only one Alliance race even (Worgen). It's like if the Kalimdor loading screen was just Night Elves (funny thought)

Hmm, interesting. Maybe it is just a fluff loading screen that is used for very specific scenario's/questlines. Kind of like the BFA lordaeron one with Anduin and Sylv or the original gryphon one.

Its on beta now for when you port into Zul'aman or Quel'thalas only. I would say it's just for them but they are barely the focus of the loading screen.

That sounds like that means its the overall expansion loading screen. We already got Arathi content, we know there's a lordaeron delve. Updates to the rest of the region are basically guarenteed. (For once and for all I wish we got a canonical name for each of the two halves of the EK continent. Tirisfal works. Something like Old Arathor works too.)

A Lordaeron delve? Shiiittt maybe 12.2 IS a Plaguelands and Tirisfal update.

There is a datamined delve achievement that just says "Die in Lordaeron or Undercity."

Is this innocuous? Did general scenario strings get renamed to delves or is this definitely a delve thing? If its not the setting of an upcoming delve it might mean Forsaken history is the next subject of Lorewalking. Though that still points to major Lordaeron content.

There are a few updated orange and purple plagueland trees in Thalassian Pass that may have been hinting at this from the get go.

The story only points to the Worldcore for future content but as we see with Atal'utek that doesn't matter.

You know there was a datamined toy that sings the new sylvanas song & everyone guessed it would be the reward for elf lorewalking....but then it wasn't. Who wants to bet they changed to be the reward for a forsaken lorewalking.

And Sylvanas is the one Windrunner who isn't relevant at launch, but is teased in the prologue. That plus datamined string plus plaguelands assets plus Stratholme fog plus new loading screen (plus Arthas lorewalking!) definitely point towards Lordaeron but not so much the story.

I'd lose my shit if they did an outright Sylvanas timewalking because it would be the most utterly confusing thing in the game to the point that Cho's head would probably go Scanners on us.

It would probably be a new scenario, then her suicide, then Gilneas, then Legion, then something in SL. A new scenario about her death at the hands of Arthas would go hard.
