It's not beta build, its just single social media post bro. Tomorrow is possible, but recently Friday become "wrap up week" time and Monday "news day".
That's why I really hope for 4 tier expacs and 2 year timeline - and with last tier being a breather both for story (something disconnected to main plot) and dev team. Comfortable and stable schedule would serve both players and devs.
For example in TWW perfect material for 4th tier would be Blackrock Depths remake raid (of course it wouldn't be a thing for anniversary earlier) as a proper tier. Three zones around it would get 8.3 treatment, delves Dark Iron boss + theme, etc. Notice how 80% of this work was already done and wasted.
Why disconnect it to main story? First, next expac reveal could happen comfortably 1 year after launch and avoid (proper) ending spoilers. Second, story finale deserve Nazjatar/Undermine treatment, not Karesh/8.3.
It's not even about crunch, it's about giving time to breathe for fresh ideas. People expect big changes and pernament additions from each expac, 18th month schedule basically force them to make 1 extra expac every 6 years.

It looks like the thought behind it is that the Warband screen takes that space, but I think it lacks the novelty of the expansion themed log-in screens. There should be room for both, even if we spend only a few seconds on the login screen. It's little things that keep the novelty of the game alive. It's always nice to forget to log out, come back a few hours later and see a disconnected message over the pathway to Icecrown, or the two mogu guards in the Vale.
The new login screens aren't made any differently than old ones, they're still various plates layered on top of each other. My only assumption is that the newer one is meant to reflect the various circular symbols in the saga, whether that's the Dark Heart, the Worldcore, the Sunwell, or even the Worldcore itself.
I dunno. Bring back the old screens plz. They're a fun detail.
What I don't get is how they are starting to rush their patch cycles even faster than their previously stated goal of 8 weeks between patches as we're starting to see 7 week patch timelines in TWW and really it's more like 5 weeks from 11.2.7 to 12.0 because of Christmas break. I'd even say things have gotten so out of control that 11.1.5 was a nothingburger patch so they could get caught up on the real content. IMO it feels like they have really taken for granted player appetite for buggy and sloppy content and usually both at the same time and they're going to keep pushing faster and faster patches until it reaches a literal breaking point
People are going to hate Dev DH in pre-patch, if it goes live like this. It's not much better in Midnight but at least the Apex talents make it sort of playable, but without them it just plays like ass.
Hopefully all the inevitable complaints force them to do something but given the last few weeks I wouldn't hold my breath.
Not actually tried the new DH spec. But from what I can see, it looks like the issues are inherent to the concept the spec is pushing. Meaning that there is nothing that really can be done outside massive reworks to the core of the spec. Or in other words, scrap it and redo it from scratch.
It requiring Apex talents to work just makes it sound similar to Devastation Evoker, which ad a similar problem of feeling like it was designed top down, starting with a full talent tree. Rather than older ones being designed bottom up, with a clear identity that the talents build on top of.
In short: The new DH spec will probably be good in about a year. And postponing the expansion just for that probably wouldn't actually change anything but minor details.
The world revamp dream will never die!

Devourer is...fine at cap in sustained fights. There's actually a decently high ceiling on skill expression in terms of extending out enough Collapsing Stars.
The big problem is that leveling with it and prior to the apex talent to at least get a free Star off is a miserable experience. And also Havoc is just more fun anyway, at least to me.
Music is meh, but I'm saying that within the context of it being presented as the main theme. If it's just part of it then it's fine.
Classic style portal login screen in a sweeping landscape should be brought back, and then the warband camp should lean into it by offering a background set nearby.
I tried Devourer on Beta and definitively it's not my thing.
A pitty because thematically and visually it's a very cool spec. Although it's a crime that they're not able to wield a scythe.
Guess that we are getting the Roadmap next week after all. There's still today but usually nothing happens on Fridays.
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.

Game play would be helped a lot if the button you have to spam a billion times wasn't some janky "cast time but you can cast while moving" shit
Literally just having made it into weapon attacks projected through the void to be a 20 yard range spec would put the whole thing together so much more nicely
The music is almost certainly a smaller part of the theme. My hopes is that we'll get a longer version of the standard music intertwined in.
I agree about the iconic login screens coming back. Warband camps being a customizable thing should not be considered a replacement.

Imma presume the music shown is either just a small part of the login theme, or it's just generic Voidstorm music as a placeholder.
I would genuinely be shocked if Midnight's login music didn't have the typical WoW motif.
Oh, weird, it seems like all of the metal textures on gear got changed in PTR. Not sure if it's a bug or a feature. Also not sure if I like it.
