Personally I really like the Haranir but BEs really deserve new customizations, its their expansion afterall, its the best time to do it. Fingers crossed they will add customizations in one of the patches
Its a damn shame there is just non at all.. , but wait!
There is ofc the upcoming one troll skin color!

In comparison, blood elves barely got any new stuff from shadowlands additions on to now. Night elves and humans had the biggest load I believe.

I truly think this is one of the biggest misplays with the expansion. There are a lot of instances where it just makes sense. It completely destroys the "It'll come when it fits the story" argument about customizations. They couldn't even add purple eyes for the void demon hunter spec.
Either there's a massive batch of customizations coming for Thalassian Elves, or their priorities are truly mismanaged.
I just truly don't understand it.

There is stuff in the files showing that they are working on Velf DH stuff but they couldn't make it into launch. Either the art team is just lagging behind, or more likely IMO they are being told "that doesn't matter as much as TLT/12.1/12.2 take your time" to give minor patches a little extra.
Said Velf DH stuff is quite literally recolors so I don't think it's because they -needed- more time. More likely a mandate to work on art for patches/TLT over anything else. probably for the best so we don't get another K'aresh
The dream is that they are stockpiling customizations in their downtime so they can do a big release of many all at once like they did in Shadowlands so that other races don't feel left out.

I'm referencing the same thing, particularly the top row.
I don't understand what you're saying, I'm sorry. My point is also that the green stuff should be cosmic blue, but also that I find it ridiculous that it wouldn't be ready for launch.
This is the endgame of needing everything in the game to be some developer's passion project for it to actually be worked on it just makes sense that a bunch of devs watched the new Avatar movie that came out right as they started work on TWW and now we get haranir getting all this attention and focus while the blood elves are starving for more attention in what's supposed to be a huge highlight expansion for them. Tell an artist that we really should make more customizations for a race that 5-6% of the entire playerbase play and they go "Ugh but that doesn't excite me" as they designed the latest new niche furry NPC for that expansion because it's their passion project
Anyone expecting more human and dwarf lore or whatever in TLT are setting themselves up for disappointment they're just going to create a new version of the vrykul that are more important than them and all the lore will go to them
I think the most likely reason for a delay would be PR, e.g. saving some good bits for upcoming patches to generate hype and look like they're listening.
Some things they could easily do to win favour across Midnight:
- Improve Void Elf DH customisation
- Add Void Elf / Blood Elf customisation in general
- Add customisation to multiple old races
- (Big one) Add High Elves or Amani playable races
- Add requested features to Housing, like Warband NPCs or pets running around
- Throw in a new Paladin race or two
- Appealing new Trading Post content for the transmog and housing systems
Personally I think it's wild that Midnight isn't going all-in on character customisation, especially for elves. It's such a mind-boggling mystery and missed open goal, it almost has to be because content is being kept as patch surprises.
I think Midnight feels less hype for me largely because there's no grand adventure to be had on a new continent. I'm getting Shadowlands vibes with the zones not being connected by one landmass, and it doesn't help that Quel'Thalas and Zul'Aman are technically old locations.
It's sort of like having your home renovated. Nice and different but not exactly an adventure.
This problem could be offset by major class overhauls or a new class entirely, giving you new lenses through which to see and explore the game. But we're not really getting that, either. I mean some specialisations are obviously changing quite a bit but my Human Paladin will be largely the same.

People thinking dev/artist wants come before executive demands are out of their minds. Absolutely there are some devs who want Sethrak and Ethereals but Ion outright said they take too much effort. I wouldn't be surprised if races were just axed completely from dev task lists because they were deemed to risky to work on vs their profit (see: Kul Tirans and Dracthyr).
We've only gotten any races since Dracthyr because they were cheap and don't need new animations. Now, where ARE these animation devs being used instead? Beats me.

The island is fully on the EK map in 12.0. It is just forbidden zone untill we can access it.
This is not like Isle of Thunder situation where a set dressing mock up of it is on Pandaria map and can be vaguely seen from Towlong Steppes while real real island is just separate map.
