I doubt it. Pet AI needs a massive overhaul if they make it a beast-based tanking spec.

It'd be dope, though. Maybe it involves calling upon the spirits of ancient beasts that you've hunted to grant you different boons, like Gronn or Dragons. Or maybe, like Darmac, you gain abilities that strengthen you based on the beasts you summon. Temporary pets could take damage for you, like the shaman's earth elemental.

Tbh its ridiculous they couldn't add a purple blindfold/glowing eyes AT LEAST. It is \literally\ swapping the hue on a couple textures.

That would be insane! I suppose you could just have the player turn into the beast, fixing pet AI altogether. But, it's very close to guardian tanking, I guess? Unless they make it wildly different?

If it would be like it is now, with hunter player and his pet, then no. Tanking require precise boss positioning, and having to do it through the pet would be horrendous. Not to mention you would have to properly control two characters at once. For it to work it would have to be the hunter who does the tanking in melee with some pets that assist him.

Not only was it literally listed as a feature in a since edited blue post, but it's also notably featured in the sole void demon hunter's metamorphosis model.

I don't think there's any other reason other than it simply didn't make the cut. Which, once again for the record, while being an incredibly minor thing, is also incredibly ridiculous.

The Hunter does tanking and holds threat while the pet does damage and performs mitigation abilities like Demoralizing Roar or a variation of GET DOWN MISTER PRESIDENT!

Nobody so far has sold me on healer hunter. Some people brought up St Bernards with beer keg collars as an IRL analogy but thats.. eh. For a healer spec? Sounds DUMB as hell, fixed that for you.

I think hunter tank could work if maybe there was some kind of mechanic where you can swap direct control of your pet and the hunter. That or something like soulbeast from GW2

Or a petless hunter like Marksman. Which kinda eliminates any reason to have it be a hunter.

Shaman is a far better pick for Mail tank with a more sensible path to it.

it was weird because there were multiple pages of rnaking the best and the worst out of weird combos like melee warrior dps

I mean .... we also had Healing Brann with us for the whole of TWW (and it worked a lot better than tank Bran who was clearly more tinker inspired than hunter), so no clue why people are that surprised.

What will be interesting though, if they choose to make 4th specs the big feature of TLT, whats with druids or classes that don't get anything new with the release of TLT? I guess that it would feel better to just release new specs when they are ready between raid tiers instead, similiar to new champs in lol or smite. It kinda worked with Aug Evoker.

Surveys have been real, but they transitioned from email to desktop client. Strangely enough, the housing survey was through email but that one was also dismissed as a hoax.
