Dang. It was to be expected, but the fixed the Mage Tower scaling. That was the only content I had any interest in doing in pre-patch, but only with it being busted lol since I hadn't bothered before.

Can you build a house without having pre-purchased now that it's pre-patch? That's the only reason I have to log in.

My sub time runs out a couple days after full launch. I have the latest 12-month-sub reward so there's no reason not to cancel now. I'm still holding out hope we can be allowed to fully customize/skin what they let us see. The combat changes, on a fundamental level I understand and even agree with the philosophy change. But they went way too far about restricting customization. I guess on the sliver of a chance Ion changes his mind I'll wait until closer to launch. I'm on the 12-month sub but I push back the date with tokens, so I get the 6/12 month rewards while paying with gold. If I cancel I'll have to actually buy the sub again to get back on the rewards track, even if I get my first month with a token (yeah, they changed how it works).
I am the one who knocks ... because I need your permission to enter.

I would love a revamp of the Lordaeron we already have, but there's always the possibility of Northern Lordaeron as a new location with some new Arathi lore. Stratholme, or at least its bay, is part of it, so if we're going to actually get revamped Stratholme then it might make sense for the rest of Northern Lordaeron to come along with it. A full zone feels a bit unlikely but it definitely works for a minor patch.

That said, that doesn't really match with the string that suggests something happening in Undercity. Unless there's just some brief scenario there involving Scarlets/Red Dawn.

I think we're undoubtedly going to get new Arathi content with a potential revamp in Lordaeron. The first flame legend from the Faerin short story all but points to it. If we want to dig deeper, people like @Cheezits have pointed out that some of the gladiator/delve mounts that indicate 4 season also have one that gives a look a little different from the Light, but more of a flame. Unless we see Fyrakk again, I think there's a possibility that we learn the origins of the Sacred Flame while dealing with the Red Dawn and similar groups.

In addition, a Stratholme adventure with Arator was teased at reveal, but then never made the cut for launch. That plus the mystery (red) smoke points to it very likely being in the cards for this expansion.

Well, you know what they say: where there's smoke, there's fire.

Yeah, it's upscaled stuff from the background of the Northrend video, but the AI is hallucinating stuff, turning titan facilities into some Borderlands-looking stuff.

The more green parts are probably sholazar concepts and titan-facilities, you see some earth elemental spider and Icecrown with the mended veil. the rest i can't really make out.

I hope they save Fyrakk for another Firelands raid, maybe in a Kalimdor revamp?

I'm not completely writing him off for the Worldsoul Saga, personally. We're bound to see Iridikron in some form, and I wouldn't be surprised if Fyrakk pops his head up again.

I suppose whether or not he exists in some form is an open question. It depends on whether he became more elemental than dragon when he took the mantle of Firelord.

The Titans created the elemental planes, so if those barriers are weakened or destroyed in TLT the devs might be tempted to bring him back.

It's all just cataclysm concept art.

You got Nordrassil, early Naga art, the Firelands throne room, the green art is of the Lost Isles, a Deepholm Spider, the Barrens, the Ramkahen building

The icecrown looking art is the Bastion of Twilight, you can even look up the art in the video on the artbook wowwiki page:

Started reading the short story and . . .it reads like Harry Potter with high elves instead.

Eh, I take it. Again if its a first step, that's cool. Yes, not much to write home about but Umbric and Rommath are relevant enough as we know so it makes sense.
I no longer reply to quotations beyond if you're asking a genuine question or have a non-confrontational stance.

Yup, he'll be a TLT player for sure. Maybe even earlier if he's part of Midnight and the Light stuff?

Definitively in TLT. Probably in Midnight too. Are his Paladins summoned to aid the Sunwell? I can't remember right now. If they are not, that raises many questions.

Also Tyr was buried in Lordaeron... That Northern EK loadscreen... Maybe his tomb, the one that we visited in Legion when we got the Paladin artifact weapon, is only a part of something much bigger.

I enjoyed the short story. Nothing really important, but I liked very much the dynamic between Umbric and Rommath. Interesting bits of Dar'Khan, though.
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.

The short story is interesting. And it does lean into the most interesting bit of Midnight, which is the animosity between Belves (and by extension the Horde) being angry at the Alliance for being in the city, even as they are there to save them. Ideally the story would lean more into that aspect. But I suppose we can only wait and see how it pans out, though the kumbaya around the Sunwell as the ending does seem to lean into the story being conclusively ended.

It is? I felt we learned nothing from it. It really just frames the blood elf magisters as hypocrits; they were ok with fel and torturing Naaru but Void is a step too far!

And Horde vs Alliance is so weird because we have reached complete thematic inversion; the Horde are the conservative established civilizations and the Alliance are the iconoclasts.

Are we going to get shorts like the Harbingers / Warbringers from Legion / BFA?

So far it doesn't look like it. No hints towards it, or clips from trailers showing anything like that.
Hopefully wrong though. The Ansurek one for TWW was pretty damn good.

People and even Blizzard themselves saying there is faction tension in Silvermoon is so strange because you play the story and it's not Alliance vs. Horde at all it's Lightwielders vs. Blood elves. Neither of the factions are actually there or have any real representation it's just the blood elves void elves and then priests and paladins of all races. Aside from the one sidequest in Voidstorm all the conflict and tension is about Light bad in Silvermoon it has nothing to do with the Alliance or Horde and one of the antagonist NPCs in a questline is even a blood elf paladin
