Evil only wins when it spreads. It can cause destruction, it can cause death—but those are consequences of its nature, not its victory. Not its goal. The danger of evil, the purpose of evil, is that it causes those who would oppose it to become evil also.

I mean, yeah fair lol.
Wait so Xal'atath lived on a planet where people worshiped their sun, got scorched by the Light or reoriginated by the Titans, and then got whisked away by the Void last minute? And is now hellbent on seeking revenge against aforementioned forces?
Hmm, I can dig it.
Her getting whisked away by void was my interpretationast night, but on rewatch it could just as easily be the void doing the scorching as well.
I just can't think of any examples of this we've seen so far, scorching and turning to Ash (or whatever happened to her) looked like what is usually a light thing, or possibly a re-origination thing.
A lot of people think the void did the planet destruction, that just wasn't the impression I took from it.
We've seen N'zoth intervening with Azshara's death in her short, I took this short the same way.

Yes I think that makes sense. I mean, I prefer the Light being a force for good but it's still an interesting development if true.
The planet does look scorched.
It's also vaguely interesting that Xal'atath and her void beasties in the animated short are pictured against a setting sun in the background. Why is the Void being shown against a light backdrop? Those two forces don't mix. The presence of Light should mean the absence of Void, and vice versa.
Maybe it's a way to illustrate that the Void, again, arrives to recruit people from a dying world to their cause.

Didn't I literally mention this like a hundred pages back? Xal as a mortal who's life got ruined by cosmic forces fucking around, and now she is going to be their final "finding out"
It was clearly implied with all the stuff about her in TWW and especially her attachment to the k'areshi
I s2g if she was a man people would be praising her non stop but instead it's gooners and people bitching about bad writing because they're semi sentient troglodytes
The light and void have literally all of Warcraft been depicted as "two sides of the same coin" with the most notable manifestion of both powers for many years being Narru on both sides LOL
No, when it's Light AND Void it's clearly always shown to be weird and unnatural. Chronicles describes the cosmos as a tranquil sea of endless light, before pockets of void appeared and creation became what it is, with the Twisting Nether and everything.
Basically Melkor corrupting the song of the Ainur.
The fact that Naaru go dark is absolutely meant to portray the 'two sides' thing, but their dark form is also clearly meant to show the absence of light. They've 'died' and returned in a new form.
But anyway I meant a bit more symolically as well - it's a choice to depict horrible creatures of the Void against a sunset. Usually it's against a dark backdrop.
Hell, her voidies almost looked gentle and friendly once the Ethereals decided to join them.

Looking at the animated short again, as the camera zooms into her eye it really does remind you of a burning sun, almost like a dark reflection of what she witnessed in some of her final moments.
Oh. I hadn't even considered the similarities to Xal'atath's homeworld and the Ember Ward in Revendreth; that's an incredible pull. I would love if they picked up this thread.
Her world did something the light didn't like, and in retaliation scorched the planet, with the Void being her last salvation, whether she called upon it or not. I suppose her getting dusted by the Void sort of disproves this. I don't know if we'll learn any further into it either, but I like the idea.
Eh, the little girl is looking up at a void whirl similar to what Dimensius caused in K'aresh. I don't see how it is Light or Titans that was destroying it, it was clearly void?
The void is also clearly doing the same to Lil'Xal as it did to the others in it's surroundings

Remember that Xal'atath was supposedly "embraced" by the Void, and it sounded like she was supposed to be grateful for it. Nothing we've ever seen so far has shown her as a victim of the Void- she's always used it to her advantage.
I don't think there should be any doubt that that part was the Void. Whether that was what caused all the destruction around her- and whether it was consuming or saving her- remains to be seen though. That kind of destruction doesn't really seem consistent with anything we've seen from the Void so far- it looks more like it was all burned. My guess, given everything we know so far, is that the Void is taking her soul, turning her into the formless being we saw in Xal'atath's Lorewalking backstory, as her body is destroyed by something else.

Diablo IV may get a third class. I know it sounds crazy but they pretty much suggested they have an additional feature for it and giving us the Amazon for Skovos just makes sense. Starcraft will get a game trailer.
What will Warcraft get? We will learn more about TLT which . . . we know already. They pretty much told us not to expect new classes. I think people should keep their expectations in check. As always, expectations are premeditated resentments. Honestly the most exciting thing I am expecting at Blizzcon is two new neighborhoods and the next set of housing exteriors, maybe guild housing reveal.
As for Classic, I see that as a separate game entirely. Will be happy to see it get more content of course.
OW > Diablo > WoW. And there should not be any debate over this.
