Man, even a week after expansion launch we're wasting pages and pages on Shadowlands.

You want Midnight/TLT discussion instead of SL, how's this? Twenty minutes in this thread I wanted to talk about the loa, but I compromised. I argued about titans and robots instead. I wanted to speak about the cosmic forces, but I compromised. I jacked off into a tissue. You see where I'm goin'?
At least we should be getting the 12.0.5 announcement blog post in about 2-3 hours, if they follow the TWW timeline. (Maybe tomorrow.)
Any bets on what it'll contain except for the stupid prop hunt feature?
It is such a shame the dialogue really lets the side down with the whole Lightblinded plotline. Tightening up the writing surrounding it would have turned what is currently a very preachy plotline into something far more effective.
The story gets annoyingly close to being like a fever dream in the best way. How it really wants to be a plotline where the Lightblinded plotline looms over the Vanguard like the sword of Damocles, and every seeming victory is tainted by the knowledge that nobody is acting in their right mind. And yet the way teh characters are written makes them seem like either the dumbest people alive. Or excessively preachy.

Revamp zones, 'cause the Titans ain't making any more of it.

Couldn't be less excited for 12.0.5, in all honesty, none of the zone invasion events have been particularly fun so far.
12.0.7, with the Sporefall mini-raid, is much more intriguing to me. Here's to hoping it drops one of those beautiful Fungal Striders as a mount. The pink / blue color scheme is stunning.
I know they're both different things, and potential entirely different writers, but it is pretty outstanding how the local quests have beens so much better than the MSQ by leaps and bounds. It's just a different league. And I think the Midnight campaign was great. It had phenomenal pacing, but the dialouge and nuance is just pretty amateur, and has been.
My hottest take is that maybe we shouldn't have any in-game cutscenes. Those always feel like the worst part. They're just not good, period.

I am going to guess that we will get the announcement either next week, or more likely same week as the Sunwell raid opens. Then a similar content announcement cadence following that. Seems a bit strange to have big announcements so early. Made more sense to have them like that in TWW when there was only one raid that we had to think about. Not to mention that raid having significantly less narrative heft to it overall.

To be fair, the core of the patch has been spoken about already; Void Invasions are happening, so if they keep the reason behind the Void Invasions--whatever happens in the Quel'Danas raid--a secret but elaborate on the mechanics of the Invasions, they can certainly make an announcement work.
They'll probably focus heavily on the prop hunt as well, while also vaguely teasing "more campaign stuff".

I hate the Harandar and Voidstorm portals. It makes the game feel like a lobby where I am clicking through loading screens to get into different instances, rather than an immersive world.
I liked the seamless hyperspace flightpaths. I just don't want to spend 2 minutes stuck on them and being able to get up and go refill my water and come back and I am still stuck on a flightpath.
Playing through Arator's questchain feels bad just because the whole scenario makes so much more sense for Anduin to learn what are the paladins and how he can become one now thta the lights answers his calls again.
I don't enjoy Anduin's character but his presence in TWW was used correctly. Getting him on the sidelines now that he can wield the light feels very wrong. Add to that the fact the hand that we see in the opening cinematic is his.
I don't get why they've just butchered his arc.

The Voidstorm goes away after the campaign so that's the reason they didn't bother implementing any fancy tech.
As for the next patch, there will probably be some nice items awarded through the invasions (like the pure light phoenix mount they teased) but otherwise little of importance. I think the most interesting story beat will be why the void is attacking Harandar.
I don't think it has been butchered, personally. His story taking a backseat now, of all times, is probably not the best for his character.
But if they are trying to tell the story of the Holy Light and it's effects on its believers (specifically, the light-blindness and "wrathful" parts) I suppose it was better to focus on another character (Arator) for it instead of Anduin... who had just gone through 2 expansions worth of finding one's faith and rekindling his beliefs after his SL story.
I would come off like Blizzard dogpiling on Anduin if he was the one forwarding the Light plot in Midnight.
