I dunno, can be any time today.
To be fair I despise this tree storyline, its probably the worst shoehorned in storyline because the Narrative Team wanted the Night Elf Problem to go away + put the player base in Emerald Dream for the memberberries.
Also it shares the same problems where every character have to be completely idiotic akin to the Primus Sigil quest chain which always feel super nonimmersive and awful as it robs the agency of the world and its characters.

Very true, but I wouldn't ruin your day over it.

Yeah, honestly, it's whatever at this point. 10.2 launch is after Blizzcon, 10.1.7 next week, then Velen questline begins the following week. There's enough stuff next week to "hold me over" if they decide to wait another week. I'm just excited for everything right now, so it'll be worth it!
If 11.0 is pirate themed, maybe we'll finally get boat gameplay. Perhaps exploring uncharted islands.
Open ocean boat pvp.
Your crew is all of your alts with your main as the captain
That's the lore explanation for account bound things.

The Night Elf and MSQ questlines may serve as a soft reveal of the patch content, but I doubt we'll be waiting past next week.

The narrative of the world tree doesn't have any issues minus the name(I stand by it). And yeah the tree not being on Kalimdor would be......a not good idea but I've said that already and it seems people here know that.

Warrior-Magi

Night Elf quest will be a BIG hint at what's going to go on with that, especially as it seems to be an extension of the overall refugee story.

It would be a funny reveal if they make both Amirdrassil and Mount Hyjal/Nordrassil into cities, thereby nullifying the problem. That would likely mean that Amirdrassil is neutral or both are.
The neutrality issue of Amirdrassil is the big question and probably the big sticking point against it being a questing zone in 10.2.
Personal guess: Eye of Ysera and G'hanir in the Dream, but incomplete Amirdrassil that blooms in 11.0.

To be fair they can always move the tree within the Dream to its actual location in the physical realm as they got that wiggle room with the Dream.
Now whether you want said tree in the physical realm is anyones' guess based on the events within the Dream.
So I have never really taken the whole "It has to be on the Dragon Isles, seriously" beyond obviously finding the idea preposterous for the fact that in that situation the Night Elves would essentially be exterminated from Mainland Kalimdor/Eastern Kingdoms storywise due to the lack of interest in splinter factions beyond "Everyone's here" unity from A Plot Cinematics.

The biggest reason its expected to be on the Dragon Isles is the cinematics showing it growing on the Isles (which could just reference it growing in the Dream) and, in a meta-sense, the fact that the devs were testing giant trees being placed in that area. Also that area generally being big enough to house a giant tree.
I think it could all be a misunderstanding however and the Amirdrassil on the Isles is a phased and mid-grown version, while the final one is bigger and placed elsewhere.
I honestly feel like that was a nod to the audience "Hey, you're going to Emerald Dream" with the tree and the gateway atop the tree rather than anything to do with Amirdrassil itself.
I mean anything is possible in this regard, I doubt they intend to force Night Elves onto a Island unless this is somehow connected to a plan to make every part of Azeroth relevant for later with more cities across the continents or something.

Don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread, but with island exploration and filling out the map being one of the popular ideas for the next expansion, I had noticed today that Big Kinook makes a reference to the "Goblins of Undermine" making "a good clam chowder" during the Feast event.
It's a one-off, and maybe part of a reference that went over my head, but I don't recall Undermine being mentioned recently until this; feels similar to the BFA dragon isles mention. Just something to add to the inevitable train graphic.

We’ve had lots of small hints like this in a few expansions.
The Suramar cloak dropping from the works boss in Tanaan Jungle during WoD as well the shipwrecked Kul Tiran and Zandalari NPC’s in Aszuna during Legion.
It could definitely be a hint of things to come. Undermine could easily be a capital city for an expansion, a zone, a raid or even an entire “continent” for an expansion.

That's really cool, I can't remember the last time Undermine was mentioned by name (it was going to be in BFA before it was changed to Motherlode). I'd say that's a good sign of a hint.
Are there any mentions of Tel'Abim or Hiji? I don't think Plunder Isles is mentioned by name in the Nightsquall book, but the implication is there.
...actually, they specifically mention Tel'Abim in the Nightsquall book. AND the South Seas by name.
Undermine, Tel'Abim and South Seas mentions in the same expansion is sussy. Per Chronicle, Kezan/Undermine is basically next to it.Nightsquall has raided more islands in the South Seas than any captain who ever sailed. They say he's stashed so much gold beneath the sands o' Tel'Abim that the island now rises ten feet higher than when he first landed on it!
