Yes I think that many players enjoyed the 9.2.5 Torghast, or even, the 10.0 version, when you could (and still can) rush through everything and get some cosmetics. Pretty fun IMO.

Regarding your evergreen mention in relation to scaling... Please investigate for us, although I guess that when we get the 10.2 reveal (hopefully this week) we would get some information about it.

I guess that it could be related to a Timewalking revamp or to a Journal feature, through which we could replay questchains, kind of a New Game + feature. If they do something like that my hope is that they finally go full account-wide mode. Let us buy a toy similar to the maps toy. When used, all quests of a certain continent are done. Same with reputations.

The first version of Torghast (without rating and timer) was by far better than anything that came after. What was hated was the fact that you HAD to do it every week for Soul Ash for legendaries. It would have been hailed as the GOAT if it was an optional side thing for cosmetics, like the mage tower.

There is another smaller cinematic in the patch, unsure where it will play.

Any predictions for the Heritage quests? Here's mine:

Forsaken: Calia's child (either girl disguised as a boy or the figurehead controlling the "prince") revealed as the new leader or heir to the Scarlets, gets away to set up next conflict and give Calia much needed suffering. Also Calia does something cool for once

Night Elf: The status of the refugees post-timeskip is confirmed. It will be despised and hated

It was extremely weird to establish Calia had a child with some random man, then to establish Derek Proudmore as her "one true love." Not to mention she was also married to Daval Prestor. Maybe they did this so Jaina wouldn't be the biggest slut in wow lore anymore.

People suspected her child could have been Taelia or Lilian, but after spending extensive time with them, she should have realized if that was the case. It feels like the developers have completely forgotten this subplot. Scarlet Crusaders claim they have the child with them but this is certainly a lie, or in some cases, their heir to Lordaeron is simply Turalyon. If they use the child to create conflict between the forsaken & humans it would be extremely soap opera-ish, and another example of Danuser relying on bad tropes rather than focusing on the real conflict that already exists. Forsaken fans already hate Calia & this storyline doesn't portray her well. How would this make them like her more? She clearly didn't look very hard for her child considering the years since the fall of Lordaeron. She wasn't frozen in ice or anything; she was just being a nun in the same region the Scarlets are based.

How do you quantify that? Either way they're just a pile of disembodied rocks, that can apparently eject vital organs.

That sounds like you've described almost every expansion.

No. She's not crystalline at all when fully corrupted. Velen even explains the difference between a corrupted Naaru & what Saa'ra has become. Plus otherwise, theres zero reason Calia just turned undead one day.

The larger point being, even if Xe'ra's death is slightly ambiguous, the writers will bring her back if they feel like it.

It's a trope, and tropes are fine. It sounds more like a Shakespearian family drama thing to me LOL.

The former princess of Lordaeron's lost child becoming her sworn enemy (and for seemingly understandable reasons if she really just thought the kid was dead) sounds pretty cool and like a refreshed Scarlet vs Forsaken beef to me.

Secret long lost child is like, the top 3 stereotypical soap opera plots, after "evil twin" and "amnesia."

I'm seeing this thing WoW keeps doing where it feels it needs to "reignite" conflicts that were never resolved in the first place: They never gave us a real conclusion, just premises for storylines, over & over again. The Priest Order hall literally has a storyline where you kill all the remaining "hateful" Scarlets & establish a new order that loves the forsaken. Did they just forget about that?

The funniest thing to me is that the timeskip between the Forsaken Reclamation quest (SL) and the Heritage quest (DF) will be five years, but they expect new players to do both quests back to back.

Are they going to point out the time jump at all? Will there be any progress to Undercity's reclamation???

I think it's more about how the Scarlet stuff is tired and boring if there's nothing new to spice it up. Rahhh we want Lordaeron we hate Forsaken we Crazy for almost 20 IRL years? There needs to be a little more to it if it's going to keep happening.

Ironically, counter to your point, they JUST ended the Defias storyline for good because it was silly to keep it going (and are now pivoting to Players/Commoners/Good Nobles vs Evil Nobles instead). So unless the Scarlet stuff is formally finished in the heritage quest they definitely have something in mind for them.

Looking at the Nelf quests again, it sounds like it may be about cleaning the Satyr out of North Kalimdor?
