I mean, if we’re going to split hairs then we don’t know what the “no pirates” was in reference to. The post Qwik responded to was just some guy saying “we don’t want pirates”.

I’m not really inclined to take that as him outright saying we aren’t getting pirates in the next expansion. If he made a statement on twitter saying “guys we are categorically not getting pirates in the next expansion, continue to speculate.” But him just saying “no pirates” to a guy not even speculating on the next expansion just saying they want to see more of EK and Kalimdor with no pirates isn’t really confirmation is it.

For me this video kills the possibility of a world revamp. A visual update is what we are going to get. Why they would bother to update the old world if we were going to get a revamp?

Because the view distance would need to updated anyway. A world revamp wouldn't undo that update. And they can keep the new dragonriding cup if they don't plan on changing the geography.

BTW Vyranoth changed sides so easily that I really hope that it is a plot just to stab Alextrasza in the back. If not, terrible decision of the narrative team IMO. Completely unjustified.

For that matter, even if they do change it enough that you can't just port them over, what is wrong with having that content be in the old version of EK/Kalimdor while the revamped ones have new ones?

Only a few hours left to go before hype season begins.

What are some of your hopes for the news this week?

Today I'm hoping we get a cinematic that shows us a glimpse of the Emerald Dream and the World Tree, and I hope Paladins becoming playable by all races ends up being a thing they unlock once the story is decrypted.

For later in the week, I hope it becomes apparent to us what the longterm future of the story has in store. I just want to know for sure what'll become of Alex, Tyr, Vyranoth, etc. Oh and a metric crap ton of nature-inspired transmog. Druids shouldn't have to use antler helmets from the Molten Core.

Imo druids being playable for all races will probably be the next one expanded out if we’re going solely by story reasons with next patch being all about the emerald dream and what not.

But that’s assuming there’s not something with the Tyr story that would open them up.
