Care to point out the tree on the zone map? It's in an instanced raid.

The tree is supposed to be it's OWN zone. Like Darnassus, etc

They said we will have a new questline involving nether- and stormdrakes, so maybe they will just give it out as a reward there (which, honestly, I hope not .... I actually like it if the monthly rewards stay unobtainable, atleast for some time).

Night Elves being exiled from the story on the Dragon Isles is really funny though and I mean if nothing else the Narrative Team members who loved torturing elves in the Shadowlands Alpha is probably laughing his or hers ass off right now lol.
I no longer reply to quotations beyond if you're asking a genuine question or have a non-confrontational stance.

If that's where the new zone is going to appear, then that probably means the Tree will be on it then. Looks like it might indeed be on the Dragon Isles. RIP hopes and dreams.
Still.. it doesn't automatically mean that the new world tree will be the new "Night elf major city" like Darnassus.. It wasn't exactly Tyrande or Malfurion's idea to build their city on the tree, it was mainly on Staghelm who decided on the idea.

It would be ironic if the Gilneans got Gilneas back and shared it with the Night Elves similar to how the Night Elves had to share Darnassus with the Gilneans when they fled their city.

Tyrande and Malfurion refer to the tree as their "new home" in DF, so it's likely planned to have their new settlement.

    3 mounts from fyrakk
I'm honestly tempted to say no 10.3 because of that but 9.2 had an aotc and mythic mount as well

I have been wrong 10.3 is happening so I'm wondering if 10.2 will be short

People assume that the new tree is supposed to be its own zone like Teldrassil, but every other world tree in the game is just a large tree, and the ghost of the tree in that cutscene with it coming through is not zone sized. Personally I don't think Blizzard's plan here is just making Teldrassil 2.

    It's west of Ohn'ara

Which is a non-committal yes. This means barring some sort of natural disaster, there will be another raid tier; a real one. Not this fated nonsense.

Honestly, I can't say it'd be better than what we got, but saying this is just a lack of imagination. Nothing should stop them from making varied zones & cultures.

    Emerald Dream:
    • Dream Hyjal - Mountain Biome, Dragons guard the spires against otherworldly invaders including Void entities & Ancient demons.
    • Dream Suramar - River Biome, two ideological camps of Mushroom People fight a civil war
    • Dream Scholazar - Tropical Biome, New versions of existing creatures on azeroth get rallied to fight the Druids of the Flame
    • Dream Qiraj - Desert Biome, Cactus people try to emulate the visitors from the material plane, form cities
    • Dream Tundra - Tundra Biome, Furlords, primodial furblogs test adventurers if they're worthy of their assistance

Old God World: I would build it up like Dark Souls 2, where you travel down into the Abyss, where time does not exist; so you get to visit all these places that were fully consumed by the void, but you get to see them at their height, right before they fell.
    • Ahn'Mefir - Last haven of the Aqir, a brutal hierarchy that revolves around slavery & worship of the Old Gods
    • Morthen - An alien world that mastered space travel before they were consumed from within by corruption
    • Uldorus - A twisted imitation of a Titan Facility; the Old Gods have attempted to learn everything about the Titans by imitating their techniques.
    • Showli - A world much like azeroth experiencing a lasting peace but was destroyed by visitors from the deep; relive their final days.
    • Vestige of the Black Empire - The throne of the Old Gods. Here the old gods function in perfect harmony, projecting endless nightmares into the universe

So is it like a portal that leads us there? This is confusing as hell. Wish they'd just say where tf they gonna put it on the map so I don't have to think about it anymore.

The new zone could be in the dream and located in that space for convenience.
A special seed, planted by Tyrande, has grown into a new World Tree and is on the verge of crossing over into Azeroth.
So it has to cross over.

Then why present it as Teldrassil 2 and keep the Nelves in Stormwind forever? It's very likely going to be their new home, just like how Forsaken got theirs back.

The Dream takes up the "free space" next to Ohnaran, and they wouldn't overwrite that with Amirdrassil, especially when it has to come out in reality (so it couldn't just be attached to the Dream per lore). The tree COULD be another zone or area on the Isles, but there is currently nothing pointing to that.

The zone is in the Emerald Dream, we get there through the portal. The world tree will end up being in the main world, but this zone is in the Emerald Dream equivalent of the 'hole' area west of Ohn'ahran Plains.

Seriously if 10.2 is the last patch of DF, this expansion would go from being one of the top ones to one of the worst.

Hopefully something new will come out of the interviews, because, fuck, this is dissapointing.

Maybe the issues that they had with their developers were worse than we believed.
Fyrakk drops the Ahead of the Curve 100% mount. Those only come from end of expansion bosses.

So it seems 10.2. is the end after all.

  17. #15337
10.2 may not be the final patch, but that doesn't necessarily mean 10.3?

    Could be 10.2.5, or 10.2.7.

It was said in the 10.2 update prior as well.

Do we have it confirmed you have to go through the portal? I think it would be odd to bottleneck it that way (regardless of lore), especially if it's on the world map and you can "fly over there" easily.

It isn't being presented as Teldrassil 2. It's being presented as a new world tree.

The Night Elves have a half a dozen other zones they can move to in a hypothetical updated to the world, including living around the new tree. There's just not much at the moment to suggest they're planning on duplicating Teldrassil's "an entire zone on top of a tree" shtick. Especially since it poses all sorts of problems with updated view distance and visual quality.
