There is just something that makes classic combat more 'satisfying' than retail, but I can't really put my finger on what that is. Whether its the perfect amount of tuning, sound effects of whatever. Hitting a crit in classic just feels tons better than on retail for example.
I think this is honestly down to how slow and tedious Classic is. When combat is slow and important abilities are few and far between, hitting that Crit on a mob feels very rewarding.
I don't think you could replicate that without scaling things back and making things slower.

Really it's the same as why the world feels more impressive in Classic. You don't have flying, so you are forced to experience the zones from the ground, and having to learn the small nuances of the zones.
With flying you avoid all of that. You are in this case making a direct tradeoff between gameplay and convenience, which I have often espoused are polar opposites in gaming.

So red shirt guy said this

Similarly, at the last Blizzcon, there was a panel where they were talking about how expansions get their names, and reiterated the idea of having broad expansion concepts planned out in advance, and namedropped “the Light vs Void expansion” as one they hadn’t gotten to yet.

Assuming this is true, and paring it with the scaleface leaks…
Next expansion almost certainly has to be light vs void.

I'm kinda hoping it is, just so I know im clear of an Undermine Expansion haha, god I'd hate that so much xD

    The White Lady - Mu'sha - Elune

    The Sun - An'she

    The Blue Child - Lo-sho

Clearly super relevant to Night Elf and Tauren lore, with the Tauren believing them to be parts of the Earth Mother, and the Night Elves thinking of the White Lady as Elune. The White Lady collected Ysera's soul when she died, and was darkened when Tyrande invoked the powers of the Night Warrior. Supposedly, Mu'sha and An'she watch over Azeroth's world-soul and have done so since the dawn of time.

I just find the idea that the Harbinger would use this somehow to her advantage very exciting. If she could permanently darken Azeroth or something to that degree, in order to remove the world-soul's final protection and render it vulnerable to the Void, that'd be super cool as the setting for an expansion.

"Shadow of Azeroth" comes to mind, heh.

It would explain the shadowy Gryphon so well, too.
I am just curious whether An'shuul is related to An'she. Is it a dark moon? A planet orbiting An'she?

Lmao. So the leak he's talking about is literally what we have been covering here. As in that's where he saw it.

Tbh I’m expecting the “underground” expansion to be Titan themed w/ Avaloren & Khaz Algar(?)
Blizzard seems to be dragging us into a “titans bad” expansion.

As I have said before. Just because a World Revamp is designed to be evergreen doesnt mean we are unlikely to have an actual main antagonist or two for raids and endgame content.
Light vs Void is as good a guess as any in this case. Especially since you have bring back C'thun and whatnot.

I think someone decyphered at some earlier point that 'shuul' translates to 'death' in the old god language. But that could mean anything.

i'd dig a void vs light expansion.

Ohh yeah, good point. Still doesnt answer whether it's related to An'she though. Maybe An'she is a Naaru, and An'shuul is the name of the void lord equivalent.

"She" being Life would be a very funny/significant lore drop.

An'she, An'shuul. Guess who is a big Life She?

For what its worth there's also a voidwalker named Zar'shuul.

So long as they continue that electric blue "jazz" thing with the Void, at least. I love that aesthetic. Flesh and eye old god stuff not so much.

Im pretty sure the 'void lord equivalent' is always a Naaru turning dark itself (see Muru - > entropius). So I don't think both equivalents exist at the same time.

Nah, he literally mentioned MMO-C and the things he's talking about are exactly what Scaleface said in this very thread, that most of the pictures he was given are void-y and have dreadlord looking things.

Dreadlords infused with Void could be very deadly foes, finally a challenge for us?

I honestly believed we had a chance at it pre-DF. Have we seen the use of sun kitty and frost phoenix (store mounts) in-game?

Not going to lie, the idea that Sargeras sword has the portal to Void Lord World or Karesh, sounds nice to me.
I'm still thinking that giant eye like circle in the center of blade's guard symbolizes Void affinity.
Would be really cool to enter the sword as another Dark Portal and end up in a new world.

Assuming "frost phoenix" means the Sapphire Skyblazer, that's the same rig used for all the newer raptor (bird) mounts. Like the Zenet Hatchling.
