WoD Mag'har orcs were there for the taking.
They gave a quick excuse for why they would want to leave, and then they closed the link.
Dark Iron dwarves were also already in the Alliance, and honestly already playable with the Dark Iron skin option for Dwarves given in Cata. The AR was just a formality to give Alliance an easy AR.
The world revamp dream will never die!
Trying to figure out who is the most annoying poster of the two; the LvV guy or the Underground guy?
WoD was much more than just legion shit... Which is being taken care of in 11.0
BFA was primarily faction conflict which picked off with what was left off in mop. Variant straight up threatened voljin, now look how BFA started.
The primary story of DF is the aspects returning and trying to regain their powers, which were lost in what???? That's right cata...
Again, I'm not saying their isn't connective tissue that links all expansions with each other. You seem to think I'm implying that.
All I'm saying is that the primary conflicts were started and ended in my list.

Well people don't like confidence when it conflicts with their own personal interests so I'ma vote with me. Cuz I'm super confident that I'm right.
Eat your heart out T
So, a Wow Expansion with zero involvement of its major characters. Cool? On the planet where the Alliance is being run by Void/Light couple? No reason to participate in any of that.
That's why my theory is the Void & Light forming a temporary alliance to finally subjugate Azeroth. It makes total sense if you understand it's written through the lens of an Azshara sycophant, yes. Which is what the Naga are. And who the note is found on.
The Artifact doesn't work (broken) without the essence of a powerful primordial (hunger) so Neltharian didn't do anything with it. If you think that's not it then it means the note didn't reference the Void Artifact at all, which doesn't make sense because finding it is the entire reason the Naga are there. Nothing about the plan works without the Artifact. So like, Shadowlands?

Lol man....
There was no reason for us to time travel to an AU planet when the same race was "there for the taking" in our Outland.
And Dark irons were not playable.... Before BFA, a slightly grey skin for dwarves does not equal dark iron. They were missing the red eyes for one.
I would.like some racial storylines next expansion, just like the class hall questlines in Legion. The heritage armor quests seem like a good test for those.
Agreed. Someone in this thread made a point about it being absurd that Horde players accept more quests from Shandris than they do from any of their faction.
It's super cool working together via Dragonscale Expedition and the such, but the complete absence of faction presense in any way makes it feel very odd, in my opinion.
They did have a closure. Tyrande dropped revenge for rebuilding, Sylvanas got sentenced and accepted it and we are about to get a new World Tree. You not acknowledging all of this means nothing. And regarding Faction War, it is donezo. From 2022:
"After nearly two decades, World of Warcraft recently announced it was allowing Alliance and Horde players to play together. In an interview, World of Warcraft Game Director Ion Hazzikostas explained the game’s reasoning behind this decision, and confirmed it had no plans to have another expansion with a focus on the Alliance-Horde conflict."
Both story (Dragonscale Expedition) and in-game changes (fully cross-faction guilds) show that. Time to accept it. Don't expect Metzen to suddenly swoop in and start fiddling with a story that is already made for 1-2 expansions in advance.

Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

I think leaked Ethereal dome would be the starting zone for playable Ethereal.
Ill even spinball it - something happens to Ethereal's domes (Light came to destroy or Void came to destroy), and players have to safely escape the place. They jump into portals and seek the sanctuary on Azeroth.
I think the expansion will be kickstarted with the first contact of Azerothians with Void or Y'rel's invasion.
wow was and will always be about the conflict between the Horde and the Allies
of course, you can fill in the gaps with fairy tales about peace, but these have always been wives' tales for the naive.
