Do we know that for a fact or is that just something we assume? Honestly Dragon Isles as the new player experience is fucking weird to me. New player experience to an entirely different game maybe. Ofc they can follow it up with more of the same.

100% agree. Best reveal trailer for sure.
I will not reply to posts that are non-constructive or contain flaming and/or trolling.

That being said, Tirisfal is right on the money. Cata Forsaken were awesome.
Elwynn in particular lost so much when all the Defias were effectively converted to random bandits.

Totally agree. Post-Cata I've always been Horde, but the Vanilla Human leveling pipeline of Elwynn > Westfall > Darkshire will always have my heart

Hope the Human heritage quest indicates we'll see a form of them again.

Teldrassil at least does that (but not much more).

I think every WoD, Legion and BfA all did amazing reveals.
Don't get me wrong, they all had great reveal trailers, especially BfA and Legion (and then again, I am biased because it hits different because that was the one reveal I was there for in person), however, nothing comes close to Cata.

They dared to scrap the entire world.

This shot of the Barrens having a huge chasm broke my small kid brain.

Along with that, having Goblins and Worgen, two of the most requested races, and Tauren Paladins or Troll Druids, new race and class combinations, something unprecedented.

In hindsight, yeah, it's quaint, but back then it was the hypest shit ever. The only thing that came close to that was the shot of a Blood Elf wielding the Ashbringer and then the reveal of Artifact weapons.

I'd need to find the interview but I'm like 99% certain it was confirmed a few months ago

I agree. To this day I'm sad that we didn't get Worgen Alpha models. Especially the female ones. I kinda wished they introduced updated models in 8.2 based on them. Still not too late to give us a taste in Cataclysm Classic if it happens. And then the Beta came... Regardless of all that, I remember being 12 when it came out and was super excited to open the christmas present that had the CD box.

Dragonflight as the new player experience is a bad idea. It's not a good way for people to get used to the Warcraft setting at all.

It's really not. It's the most independent expansion. There's hardly any old characters.

Edit: I take it back a never watch any of the mythic+ races and don't care for any of these guilds outside of race to world first. Even then world first is who has the most money now.

DF uses some of the Exile's Reach NPCs so it feels more like a natural progression from Exile's Reach vs BFA

No, Ion confirmed that "going forward" the plan is for DF to replace BfA as the default 10-60 leveling experience when new players (or anyone not using Chromie time) gets out of Exile's.

I agree but honestly BfA isn’t great either, specifically for the Horde.
Nathanos, Sylvanas and Rastakhan aren’t exactly … relevant … “Horde” characters.
Even the Alliance side is mostly just random Kul’tiran (Jaina is MIA in Thros for most of leveling) characters and Shandris…

That means dragonriding at lvl 10, will help new players since dragonriding is here to stay forever I suppose

I think it's up in the air how DF works for new players, but I think it works well as kind of a "tutorial island" before brand new players get thrown into a revamp/the true World of Warcraft. They would get introduced to race, class and faction lore there.

They will definitely be changing the cutscene you get after Exiles Reach.

There are hardly any old characters in EK/Kalimdor, both the vanilla and cata versions. Going around and helping random people is probably the most vanilla-like leveling experience.

edit: also found the source, it was the interview Ion and Graham did for 10.1.5 with the community council see: https://www.wowhead.com/news/communi...ntation-334071

I mean, sending players from Exiles Reach to the Dragon Isles makes more sense than sending them straight to Kul'tiras/Zandalar as well.
